Either way, I don't think an online mode would really work. I personally feel like these games are long, which isn't a bad thing by any means, but it's hard to translate that to the slower, methodical game-play that is present.
I also think if everyone played on the same seed like you suggest, wouldn't it just create stalemates? I mean atp you are literally up to the luck of the draw to win the game--doesn't seem to lean on the side of skill/strategy.
I am hopeful that Balatro will get future updates because of it's success, but I don't think a PvP update is in it's future! Always fun to speculate though.
The extent of any online versus content that could work would probably be daily seeds with leaderboards.
