On Gold Plasma, but of a conundrum
I know xmult is bad on Plasma, but hear me out. currently have 2 foil stuntmans (thank you Ankh), an eternal mime (plenty of gold/blue seal cards in deck), a Marble, and a Hologram at x6.5. running high card/2P. in the shop in front of me is an eternal Blue Joker. Do I say ♥♥♥♥ the hologram and go Blue? i'm on ante 7

The math is simple. Or not.

How many more chips per hand would Blue joker give you on average? It depends on deck size and other things. It could be 90, 80, 60 chips. Only you know, with Hologram, decks tend to fatten up.

When you play a hand, on average, what is your final mult total with Hologram? 25? 40? 110? At x6.5, your Hologram makes roughly 85% of that total. (5.5/6.5 to be precise)

Therefore, if
0.85 x your_final_total_mult_per_hand > expected_Blue_chips_bonus

then you should never switch. Keep Hologram.

If not, then it is not that easy. You're near the end of your run. Perhaps you'll get rid of Marble very soon. If you do get rid of it, it could be replaced by any joker that gives flat +mult. That joker, because of your Hologram and when combined with the base mult your hands already generate, will likely be better than Blue joker would be.

With the info I got, you likely should keep Hologram. That's my best guess.
---------

BTW, it's not that Xmult or mult in general is bad with plasma. It can be infinitely more powerful to go for mult.

Remember I used the words "brute force a win" before? That was referring to only going for chips, F the rest, whatever happens happens, it's easy to execute and soon enough it beats ante 8.

The non brute force approach means that you switch at one point from all chips to all mult. Timing it is not trivial. But once it's done, your scores go in insane mode. You can't even compare both. It's actually how you can reach ante 20+ in endless mode. You could never do that with a +chips build.

I'm trusting you on this, then. Blue is currently at +144 on full deck, but I feel, once I get past 8, I could keep this going, maybe remove a Stuntman for something else (like maybe the Stone Joker, or esp a BP/BS).
Keeping this seed, though. Might need to see results with Blue.
However, I know if I meet Needle after 8, I'm just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ regardless.
Big Boss: Crimson Heart. as long as it hits on Mime or Marble 2 of my 3 hands, I can make this.
Edit: I did not make it. only 701k. it disabled my Stuntman on the last hand

I am very surprised you sold Hologram, after my other post.

Regardless, marble should have been sold and replaced before facing the last boss. It was an even easier joker to sell after you got rid of the Hologram, which broke the combo.

Here's a general comment, based on what I read from you in the last few days. Maybe you pick some eternal jokers too easily. Do whatever you want with my opinion. Sometimes it'll still work for you, like for the eternal space joker the other day. Sometimes it won't work.

I try to ask myself, when seeing an eternal joker, something like "will it have a use once I start ante 8?"

For Space joker and Mime, my answer would be no. So I'd not touch them. Even without being eternal, a Mime with 2 Stuntman is a very weird setup. Generally, I also say no to eternal economy jokers, unless they're holographic or something like that. On the opposite, something as simple as eternal Abstract joker is sometimes good enough, unless I'm playing the plasma deck. So it goes without saying that many scaling jokers found early are an easy pick, eternal or not.

I hope I'm not too annoying. :/

I keptt Hologram. Agree, should have swapped Marble with Blue. I just thought I would have matched at least x10 before the boss, but it hit 9.25.
Also, I reralize I was a massive ♥♥♥♥-off idiot. I bought the reroll voucher in 7, and then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forgot about it. I always do.
Maybe I need more alcohol

Oh shoot, I got confused, the way you gave details about Blue joker, I thought it was what you finally kept while selling Hologram. Oops.

701k was pretty close. It keeps hope alive. Enjoy your drink :steammocking:
