Luck be a Landlord is literally the 2nd reply in the thread I linked. And 6th and 7th.
Yep, and Bingle Bingle is the 5th.
Don't be fooled by the graphics, this game is truly a challenge.
Poker Quest looks interesting, but for some reason I didn't like it.
Ring of Pain is an another interesting and very original project.
If you want something more challenging, Through the Ages, Spirit Island and Dune Imperium are excellent alternatives.
I must aggressively and vehemently argue that Spirit Island should not be a single player experience as it was intrinsically designed to have too much information available for one player to play every spirit simultaneously, to avoid table top quarterbacking.
Also none of the mentioned titles are similar to Balatro at all.
I'd also add Poker Quest: Swords and Spades which is a poker RPG/adventure that's decent enough. I haven't played a ton but I think some people would really like it.
And another random game I just came across in my discovery, and that I know nothing about other than the pictures is Calculate It. A roguelike calculator-something that seems to be very influenced by the previous casino roguelikes? I'm not a big "fan of maths" really but I will definitely check this out and might enjoy if the actual math parts aren't too mathy for my chill brain. Seems like you add/remove/improve buttons on calculators to punch in a beating score or something.
There are no game "like" Balatro in terms of just how good all the systems and mechanics fit together. Balatro is in a league of its own atm.
