Why are diamonds not blue? (NBD)
Hello I play poker irl and I tend to play with 4 color decks and watch a lot of poker where the graphics use four colors as well. Diamonds tend to be blue in those decks and I'm kinda dumb tbh so Im scared of enabling high contrast card colors when it makes clubs blue? It would just help my brain if diamonds were blue, whether theres an option for that or what have you. Not a super big deal, but it's a still a little weird that theyre orange.
(I understand it may be a personal problem I am pointing it out now so people don't tell me that and add nothing to the conversation, thank you)

I think the high contrast cards in this game would try to keep the black and red suits consistent yet distinct with the cool and warm colors.

But it would be neat if there was an option to individually change what colors the suits would be.

The standard four-color scheme is blue diamonds, green clubs, spades and hearts unchanged, and it's the one I'm used to as well. For whatever reason the developer decided to use his own, maybe to maintain the warm/cool as stated above or just because he likes it. I didn't like it at first because the yellow/orange is a little hard to see but I've gotten used to it.

Also non-standard is his ordering of suits. In Bridge and other games where it matters it goes alphabetical - Spades, Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs. But the developer switched the order of the last two, I'm guessing because he wanted the reds not next to each other when you display the hands in suit order.

LocalThunk has mentioned before that Balatro started out as being based on Big Two, which ranks the suits in the same order (highest to lowest: Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds). The suit order in Balatro could have been inherited from that game.
