But how many times have you opened a legendary soul and saw Chicot with a big smile because you were looking for that one legendary drop? Because it just so happens to be right before that ONE perticular boss blind that happens to screw over exactly all of your deck is this run and sighed of relief as you had to sell another, probably decent, joker to pick him and then after the win he's worthless again?
Ask yourself how often you pick the reroll token because it would have saved you in that situation. Every time you see those in a run that is basically a free "saved by Chicot" but as a token. I mean we all pretty much skip that every time, right? I'm honestly not sure if I have even picked it more than twice in almost 300h played.
And that tag doesn't even take up a joker slot. It doesn't even take up the 1 out of 5 of the legendary slots when opening a soul card when in 99 times out of 100 you'd MUCH MUCH rather get any other legendary than Chicot. Boss blinds are very rarely a problem to where you're screwed just because of it honestly.
Not to mention other than being lucky with a reroll tag (which is of course way more common to see than a legendary drop that is exactly Chicot that you carry around), a single first tier voucher for 10$ bought at any point earlier during the run for rerolling bosses will almost always fill the same purpose of negating an annoying boss.
It is truly a miserable card to be included as a legendary because of how insanely rarely it could ever come of use and every time you see it it's just sadness compared to the other legendaries. I'm not wasting a joker slot to carry around that card just becuase there's 1 or MAYBE 2 blinds out of a total of 30 that "could be problematic" or maybe even run ending if I'm unlucky to encounter them.
I agree with OP that it's such a bummer of a legendary, and they are already very rare to encounter. Something like a "vampire+" that gets a big automatic boost for every boss defeated isn't a bad idea and still keeps the joker entirely boss blind centered, only possible scaling is beating a boss. Maybe even remove the blind cancelling and push the xMult added per boss slain even higher. At the moment it is so uninteresting for a legendary..
It's just not as flashy/splashy as the other legendaries.
a) it occupies a precious joker lost without any significant buff
b) both Lucador/Boss Reroll Vouchers are much more common and do the exact same thing without taking up a slot which, in my opinion, far outweighs the benefit of Chicot being free and disabling every boss as long as it stays
c) Chicot isn't really free either, you still need to open some (probably a lot) spectral booster packs and it's a fairly bad long-term investment that almost feels like 'oops, bad luck' punishment when all other legendary jokers do have a purpose and are always welcome
I like the suggestions from DukeArchibald and Zaddy. You could make it a negative card (still isn't that great, but at least it kind of justifies its 'legendary' status), or let the player use Chicot on demand, so when you don't disable a boss it gets at least some xMult, I wouldn't mind if it was x1.0.
Canio gets x1.0Mult per one face card destroyed and nobody seem to mind nor think it's 'overpowered', where in reality it's one of the easiest and most scalable xMult joker cards in the game. Getting from one x1 to x15-20 in a matter of one-two antes? Yeah, pretty much possible. I don't think x1.0 is going to be too much.
