The chance of legendary Jokers needs to be buffed

I've been playing gold stake for a while now, and legendary jokers just didnt show up enough. I've got The Soul card like 7 times with 200hrs+ in game time (and i usually pick every single tarot and spectral pack after ante ~3). Assuming that average winrate on gold stake is lower than 30%, it just feels that the chance of getting one is too low. Also keep in mind that you need to get legendary jocker early enough to build your deck around it, or it will be pretty much useless and will just be -1 slot.
Eventually, i ended up in a situation where all gold stickers were completed, except for 3 legendary jokers, and i didn't want to grind another ~50 hrs just to get them. So i decided that it would be quicker to learn how to code from 0 experience (lol) and wrote a script that would just constantly roll first ante skips to get The Soul card. Today i finally got a Completionist++, but I'd prefer a more straightforward way to get there. So... dev pls fix?..

Anaglyph deck. Skip blind when a mega arcana pack is offered. That'll give you a Soul card every now and then.

With the patch, that Soul card becomes a legendary joker you still need for your sticker collection if you are playing at gold stake.

Patient people will do it that way. It doesn't take that long. Others will use... let's call them "alternative ways", to be kind, and unlock an achievement that is worth nothing because of the way it was obtained.

Lets see: The Soul card has a 0.3% chance to appear for every card found in booster packs. Tarot booster pack has 5 cards, so the chance is 1.5% per pack. Only in one out of 66 packs you will see legendary joker (on average).
So using this strat, you'll need to:
a) have a good run on anaglyph deck
b) have a replacable joker slot
c) find a certain skip tag (which is 1/24 chance)
d) find it on later antes (7-8) to get max value
e) not to die in the end
and you need to repeat it successfully like 8 times to get only 1 gold sticker. After that, repeat for every other joker.
"patient people" will do it that way. I, on the other hand, want to enjoy the game, not do the same thing over and over again.

If you play normally, the last stickers you'll be hunting won't be Legendary jokers, you'll have all 5 already. And you won't even need to apply the strategy I mentioned, ever, in hopes of getting a Soul card.

Your OP was about the odds of getting a Soul card. Those odds are good enough, legendary jokers are easy to get gold stickers on now.

Just out of curiosity - what was the programming language you made the script on (im assuming python)? And how specifically it worked, if you dont mind me asking?

if you just want to "enjoy the game", then do it. Play normally and enjoy whatever seed you land on, stop on Ante 8 and collect whatever stickers you managed to get. Since the new patch ensures you'll get Legendary you didn't have gold stickers yet, you'll stumble into them eventually.

You're right, I used python because I heard it's easy for beginners. I watched some tutorials on youtube and found the most suitable for my purpose.
I opened the game in windowed mode, then placed it on the top left of the screen using windows 11's built-in alignment grid so it would always stay in the same place. I then turned off all the advanced graphics settings to make the cards easier to find.
The script worked on a simple principle: using image recognition in a certain region, it searched for the arcana pack icon. (I used pyautogui library - pyautogui.locateOnScreen with confidence ~0,7). If an icon was found, it would click on the skip button, if not, press R to reroll. To find The Soul inside the pack, I was going to compare the colors of pixels in the region and look for blue, but because I am a noob, the script did not work (probably because of improper use of "while" loops), so I just used image recognition again.

I enjoyed the game up until there were 3 legendary jokers left. Call it bad luck, or skill issue, whatever. After that, I felt there was too much grind for me. Accordingly, my point is that the player should have the opportunity to find the cards they need, not spend hours for nothing. Why doesn't Séance and Sixth Sense generate this card, even though it's not mentioned anywhere but wiki. The very idea that The Soul can only be found in packs with a very small chance is bad game design in my opinion.

This is a fun roguelike combo builder where we love when nnumbers go BRRRRR so I agree completely that legendary drops should be a little bit more common. I don't care about stickers or achievements though, they're just too rare in general.

Legendary are supposed to be SUPER RARE, because they are very powerful that can break almost all seed (Some may be harder to utilize, but their strength are there). The key to enjoy the game is: You don't grind - just play every now and then, and one of those run you'll find a Soul card naturally.

I've been reading the replies and I see that the soul card has a 0.3% chance but I am just wondering if I am just unlucky or not. I have been playing for 20h now and have all the decks unlocked till the black stake and above. I have not seen a single soul card for a legendary joker while my friend and less play time has managed to fine 3. I'm really trying to get all achievements and currently this legendary joker one is quite annoying.

It's 0.3% per card in a tarot or spectral pack, so if you buy a lot of those you're more likely to see them. Your friend probably has a different playstyle. Though luck does play a factor too, of course.
