1 in 4 change to add polychrome to joker...
This is clearly mislabelled. It's not 25 percent chance at all. I can't be the only one who wastes endless money on this LIE

im a victim of common core and no child left behind can you explain if its calculated PER joker or just once. even if its rolled once, ive got this ♥♥♥♥ working once ever

WoF is 1 in 4, but what you get is when it's successful is weighted.
Foil is more likely than Holographic but you'll have to hit another 1 in 4 to get Polychrome.
It's rare.

yeah I said the same thing. 25% in Balatro feels like 0.1% chance in WoW boss loot. (Im exaggerating a little).

Which is why bloodstone is/was a trash joker imo. All 1 in 4 jokers suck imo unless you got a dice joker. I'd love them all if they'd trigger once in a blue moon.

Seriously now though. It doesn't matter if it actually is 1 in 4 or not. What matters is, it's not fun to spent money, when 90% of the times WoF or 1 in 4 joker doesn't trigger. Is that fun to you? Not to me. That can only be fun to you when you're a gambling addict. Your experience might differ. As for mine, 90% miss chance seems pretty accurate.

Either I find a dice joker or the dev raises 1 in 4 stuff to 1 in 3 or I won't bother anymore. Waste of money, space and time when you lose the run because nothing triggers. Also the fact that you can get +50 chips (Foil) is kind of awful unless you run a plasma deck, makes WoF even worse.

I wonder if people actually bother with WoF if they don't have a dice or a load of money ready to throw away.

I've been keeping track of how often WoF triggers for a while and I'm up to 33 enhancements out of 131 trials; longest failure streak is 13.

That's ever so slightly better than average with the streak being within three standard deviations (2.3%) and haven't yet gotten a 3-in-a-row streak of hits (seven two-streaks, which are ~6%).

I've got a 20-streak failure with Space Joker though (and another 17 streak), but overall hit rate is 27.8%. Also has three 3-hit streak and a single 5-hit streak.

Also, you're far from the first person to complain.

Wait, are you serious? Bloodstone is one of the best Jokers in the game, especially with the recent buff from 1/3 to 1/2 (it was never 1/4)

Alright 1 in 3 sucks too then. I usually have like 1-3 Bloodstone triggers out of 3 played hands with 5 heart cards. AT. BEST.

Yes I am very serious, maybe I'm just cursed with bad luck. It's so bad, I don't even buy it with the checkered deck anymore. I hate this joker.

I've seen the new Bloodstone and even then... I've seen people play multiple flushes, very often just 1 trigger PER ROUND. I'm not buying an overly expensive joker for one dang x2 trigger.

Well I guess other people have positive experiences with this joker. :dcrandom:

Surely, exponential growth has to be trash in a game where you want high numbers, right?

Often WoF is your best chance for growth without getting rid of more than one joker at once. If you're over the interest cap, there's often no reason to NOT buy Wof.

Bloodstone has a high power ceiling, but it takes a lot of work to get there. You need to play pretty much exclusively hearts, you need effects that add mult before the multipliers kick in, rather than after, and even then you can get screwed by poor RNG. It *can* carry a run in the perfect situation, but 19 times out of 20 it's pretty much worthless.

You know what I mean. The effect is godlike. The fact that this god ability triggers only when all planets align once every leap year, is what sucks about it. Basically making it worthless in my experience. And yeah, when I'm having more than enough money I buy WoF, but never in other situations.

Might carry your run when you're using retrigger effects. Otherwise I don't see this thing carrying more than a round once in a while.

Bloodstone doesn't trigger often enough for it to be a reliable joker or anything I'd touch, unless I'm having a checkered deck full of red seals, glass cards and a retrigger joker. At least that's my experience with Bloodstone.

I'd be happy if it gave me any of the rewards but "NOPE" is all I see

ITT: People are confused to find that 25% and 33% aren't very high chances of success.

I also hate Bloodstone, but mostly because it's a feels bad moment when it doesn't proc, or maybe does so once, on a Flush hand. WoF I am pleasantly surprised when it works, so it's a feels good moment for me when I get an upgrade.

I also don't play on the balance beta patch, for where that matters.

Remember the ancient proverb:

Luck, good or bad, is simply probability taken personally. :)
