Orange Stake Impossible

Been playing orange stake on blue deck for the last 9 days, like 50 hours and the game just won't let it happen. Game plays against me it and feels like when I play a certain hand or suit or mechanic the game does the opposite. Starting to feel like odds are rigged at this point.

Yeah,I'm there too. Ive been at it 3 hours just now,and not only are most jokers on a round limit, or eternal, it constantly only gave me the worst ones, with no multipliers. You can't even take weak ones to get you over the hump to hopefully have the money for better ones in the future, because they're permanent, or you rarely get really good ones that expire around the time of the final blind. I've had enough of that jazz tonight. Also, with this video stuff, I was already good enough to get to orange with zero tips, why would I do that now?

IDK. Curiosity? Needing some tips to beat orange?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with learning by playing alone, without any help from better players. But you probably have to accept a slower progress. The choice is yours.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with learning by playing alone, without any help from better players. But you probably have to accept a slower progress. The choice is yours.

I just beat it, no tips. Some days you just have bad luck I guess. Just Gold, and all those weird achievements left now.

Like I predicted, I eventually cleared the golden stake (Anaglyph). And guess what it came down to? The game actually started to give me regular Jokers at least once in a while which let me build some econ and the rest was a breeze. But man, I swear that sometimes the game is just being nasty about giving you eternal + rental / rental + perishable Jokers in like 98-99% of the cases. I could clear golden stake just fine before the update but now it's definitely much harder in terms of RNG.

I also passed the golden one, just by luck, when I was given jokers that I could rock and start playing a little bit instead of endlessly rerolling
I passed on the red deck, so I plan to close everything for gold as a result, though I do not know when I will decide on such a thing

I managed to beat gold a few times pre update. I would regularly and reliably reach ante 8 boss and fall just short of winning most runs. Orange stake econ was very manageable and Gold stake hand size was a joke. Everything was in my control and was consistent and reliable. It was challenging, but fun.

After the update, all my runs fall flat. I would be barely scrapping by the first 3 antes just to crash and burn ante 4-6 as expected. I have reached ante 7 only once, never even saw ante 8. Every joker is dirty (rental/perish/eternal), and if it isn't, it's just a really weak joker. I can't build any sort of reliable builds. I can't build economy if i decide to bite the bullet and take a rental. Taking the free joker from skips is always some useless and/or dirty joker that will do more harm than good. It's all just too hard now, and not in a fun way, just tedious.

I straight up don't understand how people are saying this update is so easy now. I see people saying they have like 65-80% gold winrates. I'm genuinely curious how the hell these people are doing that.

TL;DR - Balatro went from one of my favorite games to absolutely hating it. Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slogfest.

Yeah, I'm there. I did get to 8, and had done 8's requirement in one hand on 7, but when it rearranged my Jokers it threw the multiplier out of whack and I just barely lost. Now it's the useless ones, like Eternal egg Joker, that one doesn't even make sense. I'll get it, but it is a slog. I listen to podcasts when I play this anyways so it's an easier grind. Gold made me start hating some of the skip rewards, though.

I think a vast majority of people who say it's become easier are mainly playing below golden stake difficulties. These have indeed become leagues easier and I'd go as far as to say that white stake has become a freebie even for a new player. Free enhanced jokers guaranteed on skip? That alone makes white-green-blue-black stakes a no brainer. My main complaint comes from golden stake when you have 30% chance to receive a Rental / Perishable stickers at the same time. How come Bloodstone that gives you 50% chance to get x1,5 mult triggers quite infrequently whereas mere 30% chance to receive bad jokers in reality feels like 98-99% when ALL you get are Rental + Perishable / Eternal + Rental jokers right from Ante 1 to Ante 8? I've been quite literally bombarded with those Rental + Perishable / Eternal + Rental jokers for more than 100 retries until I relaunched the game and it just kind of stopped and indeed started to give me regular jokers once it a while? I dunno, maybe it's a bug and shouldn't happen. Overall, I'd be more willing to let it slide if the dev just clearly states the real % of those jokers appearing. I swear, more often than not, all I get are those stickers combined. From my experience it's more like 80%~ of all jokers are like this.

What's amazing about BUs game is his ability to very quickly change his approach and pivot to whatever the seed offers. That's probably something you could improve. I know I could.

this episode was done on the beta of the new patch which makes me believe he didnt do the streak on the current patch in total. Anyone claiming to streak all 15 needs to post all 15 in one video of a stream with 0 editing on current patch. I dont care about previous gold stake settings, the current one is not consistent enough to streak through 15 stakes. The complaints of the new patch are criticizing it because higher difficulty has now dumbed the game down into a giant casino, or you abuse the same specific setups that get around the joker penalties, but even a little bit of bad luck in the first 2 antes will sink you now. New gold stake is unfun and the game should not be based around hoping to get good rng by restarting the runs constantly.

You need to focus on xMULT Cards - that means skip blinds if you get a guaranteed rare joker. Also some uncommon jokers are pretty op (Hologram). And if you stick to this formula it will be way more easy to put a gold sticker on your deck. Golden stakes became way easier since the new update aswell

It is literally a skill issue, multiple people have beaten all 15 decks on gold stake in a row.
Multiple people have beaten every challenge deck all in a row.
People have beaten GOLD STAKE JOKERLESS.
Yes you will be VERY unlucky every now and then, but you people make it seem like you lose 99% of the games.
If that is true then it is 100% your fault for not being intelligent enough, play a diffferent game or lower the difficulty.

Lets see your achievements, Mr. Intelligent with the private profile. Guy before as well. Duuude...it's really easy, I beat it 20,000 times in a row on Switch. Just having problems on Steam. I can't show that on here, but trust me, I'm uber intelligent man. It's true because I wrote it.
