Can someone tell me how to align my jokers?
I played for 3 hours and didn’t know I should’ve been doing this. No wonder I haven’t managed to get the 10,000 chips in one hand achievement.

I also applaud you for seeing this and posing a question, using your intuition to see an area to improve, and then learning and getting better, instead of just asserting the game is rigged or impossible.

Goblin laid out some good use cases above, and I will give another illustration as well. Let's say you have some cards that are enhanced with +4 mult from empress. Maybe a 10 and a 9 of clubs. And let's say you have the joker that says the first played face card gives x2 mult. By default, if you played a level 1 flush King, Queen, 10, 9, 4 of clubs, the King is the highest card and would proc first. So you'd have 4 x 2 = 8 + 4 + 4 = 16. If instead you moved the 10 and 9 to the front, then you would have (4 + 4 + 4) = 12 x 2 =24. You get a mult that is 50% higher just by rearranging your hand. Now imagine the same scenario, only instead your King is glass. So you would have 4 x 2 x 2 = 16 + 4 + 4 = 24. Then do the same again with the King moved after the 10 and 9 that are enhanced: (4 + 4 + 4) = 12 x 2 x 2 = 48. Now your mult has DOUBLED because of how you ordered your cards.

Order is critically important to succeed in this game, whether it is how you order your jokers, order your played cards, or order the cards remaining in your hand. Always just thinking about the order of all your cards every hand you play will build good habits, and then it becomes second nature.

Hope that helped, cheers!

The general rule of thumb is to put anything that has X-Mult on the right. This includes any polychrome jokers you have. It will make it so you get all of the possible + Mult first and then multiply it.

There are a bunch of strategies later on with things like the midas mask and vampire, but for early on just put anything that says X-Mult on the right.

You can click and drag your Jokers, with standard left click. You can also do this with any cards, in your hand and in shop.
So that way the Tarot cards that turns left card into the right card can be used more easily.

be careful not to confuse + mult and xN mult. As was said, latter should usually be on the right

Get BLUEPRINT, and put him to the left of a x3 multi or something.

What about ordering my actual hand? Does that matter?

Sometimes, yeah. There's (roughly) 3 phases of activation: first held in hand effects, then played hand effects, then the rest of the jokers. All three activate from left to right.
For held in hand, stuff like Raised Fist and Shoot the Moon give +mult, while Baron gives xmult, so you want to place the kings for Baron to the right of the other cards.
In your played hand, stuff like the sinful jokers, walkie talkie, even steven etc. give +mult, and various cards (like glass cards, or for instancehearts with bloodstone) give xmult. Too many to list them all. So again reorder so as much of the xmult is on the right as possible.
And then finally other jokers activate from left to right, which everyone already gave the relevant advice on.

Cases where the joker order matters are the most common, hand card order second-most, and held in hand effects mattering is the least common.
