New update/Planet cards question
Following the update, the Saturn card adds +3 to Straights, but Jupiter still only adds +2 to a Flush, but a Flush is considered a better hand than a Straight - I'm curious as to why both would not get a similar buff?

Is there a difference in how many chips both add?

I don't remember the upgrades offhand, but if the Flush adds more chips the difference is probably made up there.

Also... they seem about the same to me, and Straights might be considered better because it's the cards in order, not the cards in a suit, which might be slightly lower odds. I don't know the exact math.

For game balance. In real poker, flush > straight. But in this game, keep it that way and it makes a worse version of the game. Either straight would suck or Flush would be totally OP.

Even with that difference, I'll go for flush before straight any day of the week.

It's just a case of that quirk of math in poker where Flushes are a more uncommon initial draw.

Straights are inconsistent to play across a round despite the greater probability of an initial draw. It's pretty cool to make it scale faster to 'hit' harder to make up for the risk.
Flushes are easier to draw after subsequent hands/discards and it's easier to manipulate the deck to make them more common and score better. Can be coincidence that it's a better hand to play overall, so it wouldn't need to be buffed with a better planet.

Because Flush benefits from the Sinful Joker (+15 mult each suit, or +35 mult if you use Club). It's harder for straight to gain +mult with a single Joker, at most you can only get 15 with Smiley, requiring AKQJ10 or KQJ109 to work.

Flush also has a Wild card

And suit changing tarots in general. It's almost trivial to change your deck to guarantee you can play 4/5 flushes of a single suit, but either incredibly hard or impossible to guarantee the same for straights.
