I don't know how to play Poker

I just never learned. Does the game explain poker for you or do you have to know already?

It's not played like poker. The only thing close to poker is the hand scoring, but you can easily click a button and be reminded what a flush is, if you need it.

If you know what a queen and a diamond are, you're good.

All you need to know is what the scoring hands are. So if you can understand what "three of a kind" means or that a full house is three of a kind with a pair, you're set.

None of the scoring or hand or redraw mechanics are from poker.

It's different than poker, but the basic hands are the core of it, and it explains ingame what each needs. After you get hooked on it and play your first few 100 hands you will probably catch on quick.

lol the only thing related to poker is the scoring hands, and even then you can make illegal hands.

You just need to know the poker hands you can play and the game gives you a cheat sheet to check what the hands are, there's also a tutorial and it's nothing like poker except for the hands you play. I know many people who don't play or even hate poker but they love this game. I personally am tired of card games, hearthstone and all that stuff, but Balatro is different and totally got me hooked.
