Devil Tarot Card doesn't seem to do what it should

This Devil Tarot card says "$3 if this card is held in hand at end of round"

It's been there for many rounds and I'm not earning any extra $'s ...

Any idea why?

Holding onto the Devil card doesn't do anything. When you use it, it makes a card into a Gold card, and at the end of each round, each Gold card in your hand earns you 3$.

Devil enhances a playing card with the gold enhancement. The text you're quoting is the description of what gold does. You need to use devil to enhance a card and hold THAT card at the end of the round.

some extra advice for the devil card - if you see it in a shop, it is pretty much 100% always worth buying. it costs $3 by default and can immediately pay that cost back when you use it in the next round, so it's still worth buying even if you're saving up money for something else.
