I mean Factorio is an automation game. I am not saying don't buy it but I fail to see how it relates to Balatro.

Civilization 6 is another game similar to Balatro. It metaphorically holds you at gunpoint until you've spent 30 minutes on two turns.
Can't forget BG3.
World of Warcraft: it's been known that it inspired Balatro, 30 years of time sinking still going strong.
Rimworld is another slept on Balatro-like game.
Call of Duty? You know what, yeah, I'm thinking it's a perfect contender.
