OP, set your winning strategy early (what hands are you going to focus on) and then try to find as many Jokers to complement that strategy. It's easier said than done as luck is a factor in this game, but keeping this simple idea in mind will help you. You got this!
Most players have the capacity (if not necessarily the patience and/or tenacity) to learn and improve, to the point when they become good players who can then win (almost) any and every basic run.
If you're that much better at action roguelikes (such as the ones you mentioned) then I would say Balatro might not be the game for you, and to just move on from it; rather than approaching the forum with an entirely incorrect criticism.
Instead of focusing on flush or any particular hand or particular jokers you should just make use of what the game offers you. You will soon be able to beat White Stake consistently. It has very little to do with luck.
You can think that.
But know that you'll never find a seed on white stake that a good player can't beat. The only difference is skill.
There's a thread dedicated to that, people ready to beat what others consider impossible seeds.

try running a pair or two pair strategy instead. The main important thing is to get + mult early and then improve them with several stacked x mult and additional chips. I usually don't buy celestials until I get a few jokers and see where the game is taking me in terms of strategy.
Flatten it? How about making it go downhill? Has to be even better.
