Just can't win ever
Know that the main draw of rouge-likes is going again and again. But in this one you can't exactly get better at the game. It's nearly all luck unlike something like Dead Cells or TBOI.

Get good, I have beaten all challenges. It is because of people like you that they are getting a ridiculous patch out that will break the game.

Nice bait. Not falling for it. Plus the devs can make the game as hard or easy as they wish.

Reasonz, yeah, great, let's blame the people who are struggling to enjoy a video game. You must be fun at parties.

OP, set your winning strategy early (what hands are you going to focus on) and then try to find as many Jokers to complement that strategy. It's easier said than done as luck is a factor in this game, but keeping this simple idea in mind will help you. You got this!

OP skill issue, and an opinion borne of low intellect and narrow-mindedness.

Most players have the capacity (if not necessarily the patience and/or tenacity) to learn and improve, to the point when they become good players who can then win (almost) any and every basic run.

If you're that much better at action roguelikes (such as the ones you mentioned) then I would say Balatro might not be the game for you, and to just move on from it; rather than approaching the forum with an entirely incorrect criticism.

I've been focusing on flushes for now, since they seem to be the easiest to build for that still will give a good amount of chips. I guess I just haven't gotten lucky enough to get the right set up to really make it work.

It's not exactly all luck, but it's not exactly all skill either...anyways I'm just glad the game is finally getting major balance patches. One of my main issues is the shop, way too many times where the game refuses to give me helpful jokers, other issue being cards that are drawn and no tarot cards to help me with that. Game is like, against me 90% of the time. lol

Feels that way for me too, so many times I just need one more of a suit I have tons of but get every other suit with nothing else to build

Instead of focusing on flush or any particular hand or particular jokers you should just make use of what the game offers you. You will soon be able to beat White Stake consistently. It has very little to do with luck.

You can think that.

But know that you'll never find a seed on white stake that a good player can't beat. The only difference is skill.

There's a thread dedicated to that, people ready to beat what others consider impossible seeds.

try running a pair or two pair strategy instead. The main important thing is to get + mult early and then improve them with several stacked x mult and additional chips. I usually don't buy celestials until I get a few jokers and see where the game is taking me in terms of strategy.

My top advice for someone struggling to win on lower stakes would be: Don't skip blinds. Ever. Shops are too valuable and not until you get good at the game should you even consider making that tradeoff. Money management is critical when you're cash poor in the beginning of the game, and skipping blinds will cost you too much of it, as well as your opportunity to buy important things. Use the early shops primarily to buy jokers, preferably ones that boost chip count and + mult. Later on you will want to add some x mult jokers to beat the middle to late game blinds. Once you have a decent economy going, which jokers can also help with, you can start buying more celestials, tarots etc. Remember though that jokers are literally the name of the game and your lineup of them will make or break your run.

Haha I actually found this game a lot easier to get good at than Dead Cells. Probably because I'm more of a board gamer and suck at "actual" video games

Flatten it? How about making it go downhill? Has to be even better.
