Makes me wonder why people are so afraid of Manacle, though...having one fewer card in hand seems like a mild inconveniece compared to other boss blinds.
it makes playing 5 card hands more difficult, or builds that require lots of cards in hand to score. it can also be bad if you already have a reduced hand size from other sources like spectral cards. it usually only screws me over when i'm trying to play specialized 5 card hands like straight flush or the secret hands.
In the game, hand size is only ever referred to as the number of cards in your hand. I'm not sure how consistent it is, but I think everywhere else that talks about "hand" uses some qualifier like played hand or scoring hand.
What confused me more is why I went from hand size 8 to hand size 4 when I encountered this boss. At first I thought maybe that boss applies that -1 hand size every time you play a hand, but it never went lower than 4 so idk. If it happens every time you play a hand I think it should say that. If not I hit my first bug and who knows what happened.
Edit: Nevermind I was on the reduced hand size per 5 dollars you have challenge and must have hit a bunch of lucky cards. Whoops.
