New Discoveries

I have been seeing it say I've had new discoveries, while there is no change to my collection.

I would have guessed they are completion stickers, but these also appear on failed runs.
Does anyone have any idea what the new discovery is, and where to look at it?

I guess what you mean is that, if you discover a new joker (like unlocking it through doing some things), it's not really visible in your collection (just a placeholder) until you buy it in an unseeded run.

To be honest I don't know either. I assumed they were new joker stickers/seeing undiscovered jokers, but even after getting Completionist++ I still see the game showing me a non-zero "new discovery" number at the end of most runs.

Maybe the first time you pick a joker or would have gotten a sticker on a specific deck it counts that as a discovery?

The undiscovered jokers showing as new discoveries is understandable, and you get an exclamation point on your Collection to show what the discovery is.

The new discoveries that I am unsure of are ones that are happening without any change to the collection, in those runs, I have not bought, or even seen anything with the [Not Discovered] tag at the top.

And as far as the stickers go, this is happening on losing runs, which don't add any stickers.

I get this too except I have everything so I'm at even more of a loss as to what was discovered. I took it as meaning different Joker combos, deck fixing from Tarots or maybe Soul cards. Maybe it's different Auras on cards/jokers. Could just be a bug

Has what "New Discoveries" are been credibly explained? Like the other posters asking this question, I keep having "New Discoveries" but can't find what has been discovered.

It is the hidden hands. As they aren't "unlocked" at the start of a run, they count as a discovery when you do them.

As others have said, any time you use a tag, voucher, planet card, tarot card, etc. the first time, you "discover" it. In the collection screen that item will have a "!" on it until you go there and hover your cursor over it.
