very difficult
without looking at the guides so far I can only win consistently by building a flush deck.
Any other viable builds?

I haven't beaten it with any deck after 35 hours. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever figure it out. I got to $100,000 boss blind but failed by like over $30k.

My 2nd win was using a High Card deck -often the first hand or two easily scored enough points.

Had a good run involving the joker that made every card a face card and the one that boosted face cards along with the pants joker that increases based on 2 pair

Turns out there's a blind that disables face cards :gaper:

WIth the right RNG a pair build is perfect

Yeah, Hackonacci makes for a super weird run where you hate getting Kings but 3's are SOLID GOLD and straights are cool because A-2-3-4-5 is, like, infinity chips.

its because your just going for easiest hand which is fine for unlocking jokers. but challenge yourself learn the jokers. something i over looked was mult and "mult that is in bold" the bold mult will multiply your total multiplier so if you have 50 mult it turns it to 100 mult. you can win with just a high card sometimes you have to brute force it if your specifically trying to get the run to work but you can come across it organically with what a run throws at you. just look at hands being a character your choosing and jokers, seals, foils ect are your power ups. flush is always the easiest to see in a run but force yourself to try a 2 pair run and you'll find it comes fairly quick on what works with that character and just remember you are meant to lose its part of these games and part of the experience

I just finally won with a one pair build with some flushes. Originally I built it as a club and diamond flush deck but it ended up being pair based, lvl 7 upgrade on it. Though I think the real credit goes to the Cavendish giving me the xMulti to win ante 8.

so I think we can actually conclude that without unlocking a lot of Jokers, flush is indeed the way to begin with

I managed to win with High Cards, Pairs and Two Pairs using a viable joker setup. So, I would say it depends on your run options; at one point, I thought High Card was pointless. And then it was giving me thousands of points per play, after giving the strategy a chance.

Also, Flush isn't great unless you have the Jokers to support it (same suite bonus, etc). It's fine for early game, but eventually you'll need to have some kind of focus that doesn't rely on discards until you get the perfect hand.

fibonacci, aces, face cards also work as builds imo doesn't have to be built around a hand type.

I've won with Pairs.

Half Joker was the start of it (big bonus multi for playing 3 or fewer cards) along with a handful of other jokers, including one that granted some bonus for "hand contains a pair." Eventually I was able to level Mercury up to 11 or so.

I was able to beat ante 8, but endless did me in almost right away.

Having unlocked more stuff, though, its polluted the available pool of jokers that it's a lot harder to pull that off now.

Look for anything that increases multiplier by a multiplication factor. Stuff that adds +4 multiplier is OK but stuff that adds x0.25 multiplier multiplication factor can get you 300K in points in two rounds easy. I just easily won 8 antes by buying and immediately selling whatever I could as I had the joker that increased x-multi any time a card was sold.

I'd rank importance like chips < +multi < x-multi

Also level up your planets to compliment your jokers.

The one joker that lets you make a flush using red or black suites and leveling up Jupiter (flush) for example is a solid strat. Pay attention to what you are levelling as it can become that the "better" hand gives you less points then a weaker hand that's been levelled up.

Dont be afraid to sell your jokers and change strats, look ahead at the boss blind and decide if you can even come close to the points needed and then give it a think. Reroll those jokers.. especially when you get see the ones that are wrapped in foil / prysmatic, etc as it can be worth changing gears entirely and picking those up.

Dont sleep on vouchers.

Always look at the skip reward, sometimes, especially if you have money and a powerful strat going, the skip reward can be better than what you'd buy at the shop afterwards.

Try to keep at least $20 for the interest. Always look ahead at the boss blind to see if it's going to trip you up. The needle is my nemesis right now.. one hand to score bonker points haha.

I dunno man I bought Helldivers 2 and my time is pretty much equally split between the two, this game is awesome.

If anyone can recommend other games like this please do!

I don't think so. My first few wins came with two pairs and threes. I've only had one flush victory so far. Two pairs seems the easiest build to me. It's an easy target and you get to score four cards. Just need to level it up properly.

Keep in mind you gotta keep failing too to unlock better cards.
It's a rogue-lite, you can't expect to win all (or any) of your runs with "starting gear".

The strategy I enjoy the most is picking jokers that increase in value as you trigger them.
Had a +100 mult Joker from rerolling the shop today.

In my opinion, experimenting with ALL of the jokers is a good way to progress.
Don't just go for the same strategy every game (ie. flush).. you won't learn anything that way, you will unlock stuff slower and it's not fun. Trying out cards you believe are horrible sometimes leads to insane combos.
