Ante 1, you can skip the first 2 blinds. The tags are Double Tag and Investment (+15$)
Then the boss can be defeated in 2 hands (full house, dig for an ace first).
From there you are rich. IIRC you get offered a Telescope and a Walkie Talkie right there. With only 2 Full House played, from there you can cruise to the victory with 4's, 10's and Full House build.
I was playing on Gold difficulty, with the Abandoned Deck. That is certainly crucial for card draw order because it's a 40 card deck, not 52. First time I failed to kill the ante 8 boss. I restarted and won the run with no problem.
At the time I had found a Seance + Shortcut seed so I wanted to see if I could make it OP, but none of the spectral cards that came out were Sigil and even the tarots didn't help out. I did eventually manage to win it, and near the end there was even a four fingers but at that point it'd have been a loss if I took it.
Anyhow, point is, yes everything is the same, at least as long as you take the same actions.
As I said, I played that seed multiple times. It's weird. You see the same jokers in the same order, for example. So I'm pretty sure you could manipulate the game and set up a joker to be next at the shop, right after you obtained a polychrome tag.
You even draw the same cards during the early blinds. Until you modify your deck in a different way, I suppose. As I said, I kept drawing the same cards and playing the same 2 hands to beat ante 1 boss.
It was interesting to see that ante 8 boss changed without me doing anything specific for that to happen. At least not on purpose. Maybe manipulating the chain of events made a difference, no idea.
Finally, seeded runs don't grant achievements. So don't waste time playing seeded runs to progress. It's really just to see crazy things happen with some seeds.
Okay, I'm not 100% sure about this one, but here's what I think can happen.
If you saw someone playing seeded and if that person had some cards unlocked that you don't have unlocked yet, then I suppose that things can look quite different between the 2 runs.
It could also be from using a different deck (though it seems to not be the case for you) or a different stake level.
It could also be that the run you are watching is quite "old". Pretty sure there was a change to the seed system at one point. And in this case, you can't use that seed and actually get the same run.
All of the above, as I said, I cannot guarantee. But it could be a mix of any of those things, or something else that I'm not aware of for now.
Ghost deck, gold stake.
This has to be the easiest gold stake seed, ever.
Stuntman found at ante 1, made poly with your Hex card.
Soon after you'll find a Green joker. You can pretty much play blindfolded from there, GG.
