Best and worst decks?
Which decks do you think are the best or worst? Strongest or most fun, your choice.

To me, the Spectral deck just seems ludicrously overpowered. "Your first joker is polychrome, no strings attached" would be one of the stronger bonuses by itself, and being able to find more spectral cards (and actually hold onto them in your inventory) is also a huge bonus. Especially the card that lets you duplicate a random joker since you definitely have a polychrome joker. It feels like this deck is missing a downside.

The Black deck seems like the weakest, because its starting bonus is only useful late-game and its starting penalty is severe in the early game.

I also had a lot of trouble getting a win with the telescope deck (forget its name), but I think I was just doing things wrong. The telescope effect isn't helpful until ante 2 or 3 and is potentially a hindrance at the very beginning (when you're just playing any big hand you see), and the -1 consumable slot cuts off some options. It seems like you just have to commit 100% to either full house or flush depending on the first joker you find, nothing else scales fast enough with planets which is the one thing you have going for you.

checkered is also very OP imo. enables flush in basically every move

The Nebula deck is the worst. Telescope is a bad voucher and the -1 consumable slots should just be removed since the deck is so hard to get combos with.
Its the one deck i have not beaten with the white stakes difficulty. Boost it plz devs

Just wanted to make a discussion about decks lol
My favorite one is Plasma, because you can get to second boss with no jokers like 7 out of 10 times, also the list of viable jokers is increased a lot for it (for example, the Bull joker which is probably one of the least used Uncommon jokers, is one of the best ones there, it and blueprint helped me a lot when playing Gold Stake difficulty). Second favorite is Ghost Deck, free 1.5x multiplier on your first joker and spectre cards in shops is a great thing! Also I think Erratic deck is fun, but only if you don't mind restarting like 10 minutes to get an interesting deck. Also I liked Abandoned deck in the last year demo, but I haven't played it after the game released, and Checkered deck seems interesting.
My least favorite ones are Red deck (literally a downgrade from Blue deck since in most cases you would prefer to have +1 hand to play than +1 hand to discard and not play) and Black deck (not that good as Plasma or Ghost in end game, worst in the beginning of runs since you never have 5+ jokers early).

I haven't won the orange stake run yet to unlock the last deck, but so far I agree about the ghost deck, the second deck I like is the painted deck. +2 to hand size makes it easy to do my favorite full house builds, I won runs easily until the blue stake, after that it really struggles in the late game where lack of fifth joker slot hurts.
i've been sticking to magic deck trying to unlock all the stakes before i do the others. blue is tough if you don't get a discard voucher but the deck can spike really hard if you get an early judgment or an early tarot/joker synergy that you then immediately copy twice.

Telescope was overpowered in the first demo, but its usefulness reduced significantly in the second demo and full game due to so many packs that can render you without a planet pack for a long time. Personally, I think this voucher should have increase chance for planet packs to appear, because what good does it do when you're not even offered a pack to purchase lol.

Green deck is the worst for me because it severely restricts your money income and makes vouchers and jokers that work with interest completely useless
brickey.8 Feb 25, 2024 @ 10:43am
Green is the one where you get extra money for hands and discards but no interest right? To me that's another contender for strongest deck, because I usually don't accrue a lot of interest anyways. The extra money from just winning fights will almost always be more than what you could have gotten in interest, and if your deck can win on its first play you'll be raking in the dough.

Black deck isn't even that strong late game too. It usually suffers early so it's generally worse because other decks are able to buy more and throw hands away in order to boost infinite boost jokers like ride the bus or runner.

I don't know why anyone would hate nebula deck it's pretty easy to just stick to one hand the entire game and win easily.

Green deck is also very easy you don't have to save money really and focus on making your deck consistent which is easy when you can freely spend knowing the less hands/discards you use thr more money you can pile up easy.

On high stakes you don't really have the luxury of saving hands and discards most of the time, wich makes it extra tough to make money on green deck

so far, the decks I've been able to win the most easily with (on white and red stake):

checkered deck (starting clubs turned into spades, starting diamonds turned into hearts)
yellow deck (start with extra $10)
magic deck (start with 2x fool cards and crystal ball voucher)

of these three I think the checkered deck is probably the strongest. you really just have to be careful of the heart debuffing boss and the spade debuffing boss.

black deck (+1 joker limit, -1 hand per round) has been by far the weakest deck for me. i think it would be a fun deck if it was rebalanced to not have the -1 hand debuff tbh, but that's just me.

For some reason I feel like the yellow deck is extremely powerful. It's the only deck that gets me runs on green stake and above. The green stake is the real test for any deck.

Best decks

1. Plasma Deck just out right overpowered massive mathematical advantage
2. Checkered Easy flushes, Great reliability / consistency on higher stakes

Worst decks

1. Nebula Deck It gives you the ability to force your most played hand to scale but none of the tools to do so and cripples you with one less consume slot, id much rather get the Telescope voucher mid run
2. Erratic Deck it can be inconsistent but you can do some fun RNG builds but you get screwed over sometimes
3. Abandoned Deck after unlocking most jokers sometimes i cant find any good enablers and my score just falls flat. like its built for some cool combos but if you dont get the cards you just have a worse deck. I find alot of my runs just die short on this deck more then the others.

so i know decks like Anaglyph Deck can be super busted and get like 6+ negative jokers and stuff but in best deck, I think of deck that has the best win rate and not the deck that can go crazy out of control after restarting it 10 times

Checkered is only mid imo, and probably leans into bad territory for endless.
