We need an UNDO button.
Losing a run because you quickly mistook a spade for a club is unreasonable.

I disagree with OP heavily, but that response comes off as really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ableist. You might wanna delete it.
You policing the speech of an autistic person is ableist. Me telling someone to turn on an accessibility option is not. Consider deleting your own post instead.

the only thing I think deserves an undo button or confirmation is selling cards. Ive accidentally done that before on a joker and a consumable and it was like getting kicked in the crotch. any kind of rewind in the gameplay is not something that should happen given the style of game. it would take all the pressure off.

Please DON'T add undo. All you need to do is double-check your hand before you play it - the game already tells you the hand you're about to play.

There isn't a timer on anything in this game. Slow down.

Can't think of any other card game that has an undo button. Play button is pretty permanent. All I can say is maybe slow your roll a bit and take the few extra seconds to look over your hand before you hit play.

Cough.
Dominion
Cough.

Lets you undo anything back to "revealed new information" for free (doesn't disable achievements) and you can undo even past that if you're ok with disabling achievements.

So for this game, pretty much any time during the score calc you could go "wait what?" and panic-undo before it draws cards and nothing would change.

I think we should be allowed to have fun and play the game how we want to. Add the OPTION for undo. Because tbh, MISSCLICKS happen.
It's not about thinking, or mistaking any card.
It's about accidentally pressing the wrong button.
I've discarded 5 aces once instead of playing them.
I missclicked.
I lost my game and it made me pretty sad. I want to be happy, not sad.
Give the CHOICE. That way YOU can NOT choose the undo option. But I'll. And we will both be happy.
There are many other ways to do it (like add a confirmation for discarding or playing)... But that could also be a choice. An option to choose.
I love this game but tbh I'm struggling with the buttons, L and R, the d-pad abyx, etc.
I'm disabled and I feel like I'm being punished, not because I didn't think enough... (For example I've sold jokers and then realized I hadn't read the cards properly, and I'm not mad or upset about those genuine s mistakes or bad decisions)...
But just because I missclicked.
It's like "oups my switch slipped off my hands, fell on the floor and it deleted my 5 ace hand".........
I wish there was a solution for those situations... Which could be many different options... Including an undo option.
I like the challenge of the genuine mistakes and learning. Not the punition of ACCIDENTS.
Edit to add :
those accidents can happen in the shop too, they can happen everywhere.
Why can't we... Go back when we clicked on X to close the shop ? Like literally every single game I missclick and the mental effort of being super careful and aware of every single movement + thinking about the strategy... I just want to play and enjoy a game, not have an added handicap.
P.S.: that doesn't take away from everything else that I absolutely ADORE in the game, the dev(s) are doing such an incredible job. I just can't fully enjoy the game if I'm being punished for accidents.

Whilst I can sympathise after pressing the wrong button on the Switch version and discarding instead of playing, I do agree that the undo button would likely be gamebreaking so I can see why it's not there.

At this point i think people just want the game to play itself. I dont want to have to think about what the best hand to play is, I dont want to have to deal with consequences of making a mistake. I just want to click things and get audio sensory stimulation.
TheronGodspeed Mar 25, 2024 @ 12:17pm
That's what you think, huh?

Cool.
DopaTrain Mar 25, 2024 @ 12:23pm
Yeah man, if the Cpu could just work out the best hand then I just click a glowing button that makes soothing sounds to play it.

As someone who has beaten the game with every deck and "discovered" every card in the game, I assure you, that's NOT what I want.
GrandTickler Mar 25, 2024 @ 12:42pm
in Monster Train u can redo the entire match by exiting to main menu and resuming. so i guess its not that bad to have a similar option for people who really want to cheese

You can already save scum by quit to main menu and backup save.jkr before every round / shop btw. After losing to a rather frustrating Verdant Leaf in Jokerless challenge, I said screw it and just save scum another run to force a win (Against the same Verdant Leaf, having to upgrade Full House to level 30 to win in 4 hands with PERFECT draw lol).

Pretty sure losing because you made a mistake has always been a thing in video games since the very very beginning.
