WARNING! It's a 4 - 5 hour game
Which I'm pretty convinced is being intentionally surpressed.

I was SHOCKED at the amount of content I just paid $15 to glowing recommendations on

Update: I said to myself "what? What are these people talking about? It can't just be me lemme look around"

https://howlongtobeat.com/game/132112

Yeah, didn't think so

It's actually more like 4 hours for the first win, and then most people keep playing for much longer. If you're the sort of person to only play until they win once and then stop, probably best to wait for a sale.

Edit: Steam just totally FREAKED OUT when I posted this it refreshed me to a blank page

Real talk, what's this points thing? The awards? If I give you one does it give you the points? Does everyone not have over a hundred thousand of them?

Edit: I gave you the thing, what did it do?
Points can be used to buy stuff at the steam points store like emotes and backgrounds and profile effects etc. I don't worry about comment awards because you get steam points from buying games as well

Oh, cool, thanks

It's kinda cute actually. So I can give you guys these little awards and you fellas can run off an buy your little dances and cat emojis, nice.

4-5 Hours to beat the game with one of the decks maybe. But beating the game isnt really the point of the fun is it? Its a rogue like. You play it over and over for the fun of it. I am 9 hours into it and there is still a ton of cards and vouchers I havent unlocked or seen yet. Have still only beaten the game with one deck one time.
GrandTickler Feb 24, 2024 @ 6:39pm
depending on your enjoyment and attention span it can be a 4 hour game, or a 400 hour game if your goal is to unlock everything and get all the achievements.

So what? Binding of Issac is a 11 hours game, Rebirth only 5.5, according to a page that's more than irrelevant when it comes to roguelikes. You can't put a number on replay-ability, either you'll be hooked and spend dozens or hundreds of hours, or you aren't and will be potentially bored long before reaching 5.

you can play endless mode in the game so id say its well worth the money

If you consider how long to beat as any kind of meaningful source you must be pretty stupid.

Since you compared this to Slay the Spire - in StS you can unlock all classes, cards, and defeat the heart in under 40 hours of gameplay. That's what would be considered "beating" the game.

Balatro has multiple decks and difficulties to unlock, as well unlocking certain cards and vouchers for use through challenges, as well as completing the collection. At around 30 hours in the demo, I unlocked everything available in the demo - a fraction of the full game. Best guess estimate is the full game should be 150ish hours to unlock everything and beat the last ante.

150 hours for $15 is a bargain.

4 1/2 hour to beat what is basically the tutorial level. That's a beefy tutorial.

Now crank up difficulty and start playing the real game. I'll be waiting for your screenshots of gold level completion for all 15 decks. Then you tell me what your total playtime is. Good luck!

I put 60 hours in the two demos alone. Major skill issue if you've capped out your ability after just 4 💅💅💅

Go to the casino and let us know how long your 15$ will last there!

The game is being openly compared to slay the spire ffs.

I get what you are saying but get what I'm saying too here

It would take longer to TRUE 100% this than slay the spire.. what are you smoking.

honesty are you new to roguelites? Yeah you can win this game in under 2 hours, but there isn't a "story" to speak of in this game. It's a loop which consists of > Run > Unlock > Stronger Run/ New Deck > Unlocks > Stronger Run/ New Deck/ Higher Difficulty> Unlocks/ try again > Etc. Considering each run is around 30-60 minutes depending on how far into endless you can make it this game is ridiculous in value to time. I'm 16 hours in just trying to go through the decks on base difficulty and I'm apparently only 22% progress through the game in the stats screen so far.
