What does "for each card sold" mean? How do I sell a card? Or do they mean each joker sold? I'm so confused on how this works. They really need to update the card text for this joker.

You can buy consumable Tarot in the shop or generate them through packs (like through Fool and Emperor) to sell those. If you get Planets (through a tarot or certain jokers) you can also sell them there. In extremis you can sell jokers, too, they count, though I'd only do that if you have something like Riff Raff.
