Violet Vessel ignores Hieroglyph?

Just played a game reaching ante 8 with Hieroglyph and suddenly I have to make 300,000 in 3 hands. Is the final fight supposed to ignore the ante drop from the hieroglyph voucher?

No, Violet Vessel is just 6x base ante requirement. The other final bosses are 2x like other bosses, but mess with your build significantly more than most.

A 6x shouldn't be 300,000 then with hiero. Ante 8's base is 50k

Uh, have you tried putting 50,000 * 6 in a calculator?

I think the confusion is that Heiroglyph simply reduces your current ante by one. You'll always hit the big boss on ante 8, so Violet Vessel will always be 300 000, because you're not encountering it at ante 7, you just had an additional ante to get through first.

(as an aside, has anyone used Heiroglyph on ante 1? Because it's really funny.)

Fun fact: If you purchase Hieroglyph in Ante 9, you have to fight another super boss in Ante 8. If you lose the 2nd boss fight, you still get credit for the win, but you get the standard game over screen with Jimbo mocking you.
