It's all about skills, not luck.
I read alot of people complaining about RNG, that they don't have any luck, that they can't win 10hours in, that you can only win with a flush deck, yadi yada... Sorry but you are delusionals and need to Git Gud.

14h in, already finished with 5 decks, beat 1 challenge and the red stake. I had a type of build/deck different every time, straight build, Flush build, double pair build, even a High Card one... and I didn't even play the demo.

Don't be afraid to experiment, and make sure to start picking joker that can ramp early or provide $$$. Good luck.

C'mon, it's a poker game. There's always the LUCK of the draw to take into account. That being said, there is a lot of "git guding" that needs to happen in this forum 💅

While it does take skill, it still is one of the more luck reliant roguelikes out of all the ones I played.

I will say however when people don't buy a "reroll boss blind" voucher or joker and then get a hard boss, it's on them.

Early difficulties you can win with almost any strategy as long as you build around what the game gives you and don't try to force. That being said I am getting destroyed on the purple stake, and need to figure out a better decision loop lol.
There are people that can win 20 times in a row on the hardest difficulty in Slay the Spire. Same here, skill matters. There is RNG like in every game but it is all about making clever decissions. Don't listen to people like "It's all RNG, you get good joker you win, you don't you lose". No need to waste a time for them.

And by win I meant kill the heart.

It's a little about luck.

Only played for about an hour, to me it seems making a good deck comes down to pairing up joker cards with planet cards.
Had a pretty neat deck going that focused on pairs/three/four of a kind but ended up losing against Flint, lost with half the score required lol.

It's definitely both. Probably almost equally with a slight bias towards skill. But I think it works well. Not too easy, not impossible. I love this game

There is a some luck involved but it's definitely a skill based game overall. Really what makes it so brilliant.

A Baalorlord fan, I see. Unfortunately he had his mind made up about this game before he played it and never gave it a real shot before he compared it to Luck Be a Landlord and called it a “numbers go up simulator.”
