Superposition joker card giving me tarots that have a greyed out "use"

Is this an intended mechanic? or is it bugged? I've paused my gameplay because I also found the fortune teller joker card which is the perfect partner for superposition, but it's not allowing me to use them, only sell them for $1

You need to select the cards you want to use it on before the use button is usable. It's not a pack, it doesn't pull up a bunch of cards for you to pick from. You use them either during a round, or while you opened another spectral or tarot pack.

Damn that might actually save my run thanks! I can confirm that's how it works, but is that screen the only possible way to use them?

Like I said, any time there's cards on your screen you can use tarots (or spectrals) from your inventory. It's often quite helpful to keep tarots around to ensure you get a particular kind of hand when you run out of discards, for instance a Death card that can give you an extra copy if you have 3 of a kind but need 4.
