There's a LOT more jokers now. In the demo, flush was more or less THE strat, now it's much more balanced.

Make sure to look out for a joker that multiplies mult. Together with specializing on a specific hand (using planets), I was able to win the game. Good luck!

I almost played 6 hours... only one win.... I do think the main game is more difficult than the demo.

Some strong jokers from the demos are also locked at the start in the full game, requiring you to do certain things in runs to unlock them in the first place. It's still very much winnable from the start, but more difficult while lategame you get more RNG but also more powerful options.

I think the demo was curated to offer the right jokers for great synergies. You have to grind a little to unlock jokers now. I'd "win" basically every game in the demo but I have yet to win one after 6 hours of the full game

I didn't play the demo nor watched really anything on the game, was recommended to me from a friend. I won my first two games (first normal chip, second red chip) with the first deck. And that was with setbacks of not even understanding some basic stuff and even messing up a few times. I had no idea you could score hidden hands, for instance, or what some of the keywords meant and sort of skipped some Jokers because I didn't understand them.

Then i lost a couple after that when trying to tackle the next difficulty chip up.

This isn't to downplay your experience at all just to put data to the table that it's winnable as a noobie. I play a lot of board games and deck builders, so maybe that's helped me so far.

I feel like in both games, I got an early joker that gave me money, then an early joker that gave me focus on what to play (for instance, my first win I had the joker that gives you +multiplier every arcana card you play, so I just did that 50+ times). Getting your money to above $25 to get interest every round seemed important and I've just been doing that once I saw there was interest.

I only got my first 100k hand after I found the x multiplier (not add) and realized that putting it at the last spot in the joker list was important.

I've played 9 hours so far and won 4 runs out of 9 or 10 (one of which up to Ante 11! :chocolaova: ). It's always been kinda luck-based but there's still quite a lot of strategy involved.

10h and I "beat" the game 3 times (ante 8).
Don't hesitate to toss a run if you don't get any interesting Joker in the first and second rounds.

It's different from a classic deckbuilder roguelite. Here you need to focus fast on a hand type and search to improve it. You need to be very selective and also praise the RNG God of course.

Good luck!

Haven't paid attention to this one. But makes totally sense.

Still, maybe i'm trying to stay flexible too much..
I always loose to the ante8 boss blind
at least i get to fight it "consistently" :D

the endless scaling is pretty rough in 1.0 though...
16h cleared basic ante on every deck you unlock with it, did red ante with the double fool deck just now. time played might include demo though not sure and i definitely left it open for a long time. base difficulty is pretty easy. discard aggressively, get flat mult and chips early, then build around whatever synergy comes to you. x mult is what you need to dig for mid/late game if you have your other bases covered. tarots can make powerful plays, like fooling a hermit and holding it for when you have more money. use them to predict common synergies, like if you don't have the joker you need yet you can still play suit tarots or strength cards out of your pack to prep for a flush or fibonacci build, at least giving you a chance to spike with a weak early game. tarot generators like vagabond are extremely strong. don't neglect planets and upgrading multiple hands gives you insurance against blinds that counter your build. buy tape. buy blank until you unlock the upgraded voucher.

There are 2 consistent ways to force a win

1- focus on a strategy boost 1 thing up like flush, full house or only face cards something like that
And play around these cards and combinations
With jokers and discards

2- generate so much money that u can boost literally anything up to op lvl

finally did it with an Straight Deck.
went to endless mode and failed ante10.
Now I dont have a win in my stats and also dont have the achievement?
Is this a bug or designed behaviour?

edit: even worse, the whole run doesnt show up in my stats...

Quite the opposite IMO, won a few runs and got to ante 12 within 3 or 4 hours day 1.
base stake is easy. just keep playing. winning decks need 3 vital things covered - generate chips, generate flat multiplier, true x multiplier. don't sleep on planets or standard packs either. utilize consumables to hand fix and add score to your plays.
