THE ARM
WHY DOES THE ARM PERMA LEVEL DOWN YOUR HANDS LEVELS? MOST BOSSES JUST WEAKEN STUFF DURING THE FIGHT, WHY DOES THE ARM JUST DESTROYS YOUR LEVELS FOR PLAYING THE GAME.

Horrible boss indeed, it need to be changed!

When i've hit the arm i've just intentionally played hands that aren't my "strategy". So if i'm normally going for flushes i'll go for full houses or two pairs or w/e, so it's downlevelling things that the run isn't dependant on.

I like the Arm.

Seriously. Just make the debuff for that battle and then have it reset back to normal after.

Yeah just encountered that thing, it's stupid...even worse, there's a level 0....wtf?

Well, at least the Curulean Bell or whatever it's called is way more manageable in the full game. lol

i just got the game and so far im loving it, its perfect for second-screen gaming while im working, but the arm has been the reason ive lost 6 out of 13 times now. that ratio is way too big, especially for all the variety this game has to offer.. seriously, they need to nerd the arm. i hate that ♥♥♥♥. lowkey want to end the run every time i see it

PRESUMABLY TO HALT INFINITE-GROWTH ADVANCES IN ENDLESS. IF YOU SEE IT IN THE EARLY ANTES, THOUGH, IT CAN BE A RUDE AWAKENING.

You were just unlucky, you get 7 normal bosses out of 23 - so you encounter The Arm less than a third of the time on average. Yet you managed to hit almost 50%.
That said, Almost every time I've encountered it so far it was a cakewalk. Any run that would've lost to it would probably have lost to most other bosses at the same ante. My guess is you're all scrounging by when you're supposed to start steamrolling after a few antes, mostly due to tactics. I either lose to Ante 2-3's boss due to bad RNG (especially skipping too much coupled with bad RNG), or not at all. And the chance that you get Arm as your first boss is 1/23, less than 5 percent for each of the three bosses.

I mean, that still doesn't mean that The Arm isn't a bad boss? It's pretty rough in terms of design and since you can encounter it in 1/23 as your first boss, you're probably gonna end up resetting 1/23 times from the first second that you see it. I think it's worth looking into it's mechanic as it permanently debuffing you is kind of terrible design.

Or don't put all your eggs in one basket and plan for them if you see them at the start of an ante level.

You could take the hit and just end it in one hand.
You could try to swap boss blind through joker/voucher/tag.
You could build wider to have 2 or 3 diff hands leveled.

That's just 3 ways off the top of my head.

Again, first ante or 2nd ante you get The Arm and your run dies unless you had some ridiculous luck. It means you have a 1/12 chance of your run dying from a frankly terrible boss design.

Nah, it's called RNG. If you encounter The Arm first blind, just hold R and reset. Second blind is still manageable if you get some useful Jokers. Lastly, throw a few weak hands before playing your strongest one, you'll at least minimize the damage afterward.

When you need to press R 1/23 runs, the problem is the boss design, not the player.
The only boss in the game I feel would make the game better if it was taken out.
