Stone Joker is impossible to get

I swear, Stone Joker is one of the most impossible jokers to get, never once has it ever appeared in the shop, bafoon packs, uncommon skips, none. I swear It's just impossible to get him.

Might be a bug, I just checked what that Joker is and am pretty sure I have never seen it either and apparently it's available from the start.

The stone joker only shows up if you have stone cards in your deck, possibly even needing "enough" of them somewhere between 1 and 5. If you're struggling to get it to appear start by adding stone cards to your deck.

Yeah I felt the same way about the steel joker, but it showed up after I'd added 5 of those to my deck, so I think 5 is the magic number here.

Same for the gold and glass jokers, I'm not sure if there's any other than those four though.

You can definitely get steel joker with only 1 steel card, not sure about stone joker.

i felt "type" joker appears more frequently when you have at least 1 card of that type, anecdotally.

i played around 80 hours without ever going for stone, and within the next 20 hours, i got it when i try to include at least one stone card in my every run.

FYI, i did once ran a deck of 60% stone once and did not get the joker. The couple of next runs where i had ONE stone card and it appeared.

i've been playing a few games specifically just to unlock a handful of jokers, and i'm now like 99% sure that things like glass joker / steel joker / stone joker will not appear if you do not have any cards of the respective type.

i also feel that it's possible that the more cards you have of that type, the more likely it is to show up, but i'm not as confident about this, this is more of a guess.

this is based off of playing several games using the magic deck where i was enhancing many cards, and in 2 games where I had lots of glass cards, I saw the glass joker, which I have never once seen before. i've been playing Balatro like non-stop since the demo and i found it very suspicious that all of a sudden i'm finally seeing the glass joker in the few runs where i also have alot of glass cards. i also got the stone joker when I played the "Medusa" challenge which starts you off with a bunch of stone cards, which again reinforces my theory.

based off of this, i'd suggest playing the Medusa challenge when you're trying to unlock the stone joker.

Challenges don't work towards unlocking cards or adding them to your collection.
