Tip for "red card" joker
Red card: Gains +3 Mult when any Booster Pack is skipped (Currently +x Mult)

If a pack has "select 2 cards", you can actually select 1 card and skip the final card to get the joker bonus.

Skipping both cards grants the same bonus as skipping one of the cards.

Red Card Joker feels pretty bad. I almost never want to skip a pack and, most times, what I crack from the pack is going to outweigh the +3 mult I'd get from skipping.

Yeah, even when I use the joker, I still rarely skip packs. I will, however, almost always skip the first pack I open for turning a +0 multi into a +3 multi, which is almost always more valuable than whatever was in the pack.

But I think the highest I've ever gotten it is around +18

You guys really think it's bad? I just won my first game ever by abusing this card. Basically, I just bought every pack from every shop for +6 mult between rounds. I got up to +87 mult. The only times I chose the card over skipping were if I could get a stone card or if I could get pluto (level up high card).

I had the joker which gives x3 mult if the hand is one that's been played before in that round as well as the joker which gives +40 per each discard not used. So by spamming high card and chucking stones I was able to 2shot every single round, including the final boss.

To be fair, this run had a ton of synergy, and it wasn't just the red joker that won for me (early game I got crazy good money making jokers like golden joker and also the one which gives +$2 per discard not used at the end of a round, honestly these two gave me the ability to buy so many packs in the first place). Still, I think that red card is very strong, because a lot of the time I don't want much from the packs and a card that scales up to +87 mult by eating all the garbage packs is just insanely good value.

Just had a run with 2! red cards set at +51 mult (granted one was a copy) and lost to the 8th Ante. I blame skipping packs for mult. Because packs = $ which is not being accrued for interest.

it's sorta bad, yes. But only compared to other jokers similar to it, that is. Packs are just too expensive and limited to warrant having to both spend money on them and not gain their normal benefit - sure you can win a run with it, but that money could almost always have gotten you way more power by spending it on other stuff or using the packs' contents.

Contrast it to for instance Fortune Teller, which only gives +1 but you get to actually use every tarot card. More often than not you'll take a tarot generating joker along with it, so they're essentially free. Even when your only source would be tarot packs you'd still probably get more functionality out of the +1 and using the best tarots you get than you'd have gotten out of the +3 for skipping. Chariot tarots beat skipping as soon as you get 6 mult from your played hand, for instance.

But Fortune Teller isn't the best example of a scaling joker, Green Joker, Spare Trousers, and Ride The Bus are often stronger than it, or at least completely free leaving your funds for increasing your strength in other ways. It all depends on the rest of your jokers, in the end. But for Red Card the only synergy is "get more money so I can buy every pack". So it's not a terrible joker, but it's probably the worst of the scaling +mult jokers.
