ridiculous achievments
who in their right mind would ever grind out completionist 2 ? winning with 150 different jokers on the hardest difficulty? On a average run you maybe get 5 jokers, sometimes up to seven and then you also have to pick some run winning ones which will most likely be the ones you already completet.

casually get it over the years, maybe yes

that's why it's an achievement, it will be a massive accomplishment when someone eventually gets it. as GrandTickler suggests, it is meant to be something to get over years of gameplay.

You need to win with them at the end, not just have them at some point. So yes, 5 or 6 jokers is normal, most I've had is 8 I think. But good luck affording 3 negative jokers on gold stake with the higher cost of packs.

But as said, it's a long term achievement for people who like the game. It's like asking "who in their right mind would get the Dead God achievement in Binding of Isaac.

"Getting gold state on every joker" Achievement is ridiculous gold state is already insanely rng probably it takes like 5 or 7 years. :steambored:

quite an achievement then eh, isn't it great?
or are you more a fan of performing insignificant tasks that reward you with meaningless achievements.

i also hope can scale down so it can be achieved with 500 hours or so. Version 1 with all the gold and completionist is way too much imo. could have been ver2.0 3.0 with content updates.

I mean no one said we must gold sticker five Jokers at once, it's possible to just play normally and carry a spare one you need to win with Gold Stake. It is doable, just takes time to get there.

The other day I happened to get the first Gold Stake win and it feels really good. Achievements are to show your commitment to the game, after all.

The silliest part of the stickers on Jokers is that you only get them by having them when you finish a run, but there are several that must be sold to do anything. Or you also have the ones like Ice Cream and Popcorn that go away on their own.

True, the slow grind always works. Quickest way is probably using Anaglyph deck though, just save up a few of the double tags for when you find a negative tag and boom, a bunch of extra jokers.

Yeah right. Balatro isn't deep enough game to keep you engaged with years. You MAY come back to play it in couple of months/years, but not something that will keep you engaged all the time. Even better card games failed to do that.

After 3-5 years there will be 0.0000001% of players that will unlock Completionist ++, out of which all of them will use the "steam achievement unlocker", except maybe 1 or 2 real psychos or the dev himself.

A truly awesome feature.

true, but why do u care being part of that 0.0000001% anyway? do you brag about your achievements to your friends, or does the little ribbon stating you have gotten all achivements make you feel so much better you cant stand it if a game isnt 100%?

edit: if its a form of OCD i can understand it, but other then that i dont get the need to get all achievements. the best kind of achievements or challenges are those you make for yourself to overcome, like a SL1 run in dark souls for example

Literally as I was writing this I got hit with a whooping six Negative tag, followed by three more in Endless so I ended the run with 15 Jokers lol. People constantly skips Negative if it doesn't work in their build, forgetting that having it in your roster when you win counts for whatever stake they're playing ong.

I agree with the sentiment that "achievements" shouldn't just be a checklist of things to do.

But in my opinion, the best achievements are the ones that either reward you for mastering the game or make you approach the game differently you wouldn't typically think about.

think Hitman or Dishonored - to never be detected, BG3 for finishing the game without dying on the hardest difficulty.

these achievements are for the fans of the game, things they could do before they have seen or done everything there is.

This is game is no Isaac with its 100s of item combinations nor is it a slay the spire with its fun modding scene. and you will just never be able to get this by accident even if you were tio play for 1000s of hours.
