space joker polychrome bug?

i got this joker b4 and seemed to work about right 1 in 4. now i have the poly, played 21 hands so far AND IT HASNT WORKED ONCE!!!!!!!! what is this ♥♥♥♥. sigh im prob going to sell it wtf

That's just how odds work. Sometimes you just get lucky and you'll get the effect frequently and other times it never works through an entire run

i did maybe 30 hands before selling. seems the odds of never getting it to go off even once is ridiculous.

Yeah, I've gone through so many runs without the Wheel of Fortune tarot card going off which has the same 1 in 4 odds

i had a run with All 6 + Blue Print + Space. Proc like 5 times till ante 9. lol. It is how it is. you got to bow to RNG god.

I'm having the same thing happen. Searched "space joker polychrome not working" and this was the first link I got. Don't let them gaslight you OP, I bet it's an error.

Nah, 25% chance is just low. I had a Checkered Deck run, so obviously working on Flushes, with Space Joker and the only hands that upgraded were the odd High Card or Pair that I threw out early to finish off a blind.

Just had space joker not hit 7 times in a row, but 3 wheels go off back to back

There is definitely a bug. I played many hands with a space joker polychrome, no upgrade.
Without polychromes, upgrades. OK with odds being odds, but there is a pattern here

It could be a bug but it's probably more likely that you're just not understanding probability. Something with a 1/4 chance has roughly the same odds of occurring once and not occuring five times in a row. It's only once you get to 9, 10+ times in a row missing it that you're even beginning to approach statistical outlier territory, and even then, in a game where random effects are going off (or not) constantly, you will encounter multiple statistically very unlikely events every run. Some will be in your favor, some not. Human psychology will make you much more aware of the latter. This is well understood and documented in psychological research.

Think of it this way, there are 7+ billion people on earth. That means even a once in a billion occurrence will happen to 7 people on a regular basis. The odds of any one such event happening to any specific person are astronomically low but they WILL happen to some people. And missing space joker 20 times in a row is nowhere near one in a billion.
