Controller Feels Really Bad

This game deserves all the praise it’s getting no doubt about it, but there’s one thing that has bothered me. Controller support.

I don’t know if it’s just me but this game feels TERRIBLE to play with controller, it feels like my inputs get eaten constantly and I have to double sometimes triple press the same button. I haven’t seen anyone else talk about this. This isn’t an issue with my controller since i’ve noticed this on my Steam Deck as well. It kinda makes the game a bit miserable to play without using KB+M which is sad.

Is this just me? Am I imagining things?

Devs, please add this. See: Slay the Spire, which is playable on anything from a Switch to a Steam Deck to a lounge PC.

Works fine for me.

Full support, automatically recognizes controller. Using the 8bitdo Ultimate.

Have completed Gold Stakes with no controller issues.

Not only does the controller work well for me, it even works on my Retroid Pocket 3, streaming.

Controller works fine here. You might want to try disabling Steam Input as that can sometimes help with controller jank (it did for me on a few games). I'd link to how to do it but there's a bunch of articles out there so pick the one that works for you. Hope that fixes it for you!

I'm on Switch, and I play with the pro controller...for the most part it's fine...but...there are weird times where it won't register me selecting a card...or sometimes navigating the menus in general is...weird.

So yeah...it has issues...but...it doesn't bother me TOO much, but maybe they should look into it.
