Any advice for Blast Off?

Been going through the challenges and of all of them, Blast Off genuinely feels like the most RNG-dependent thing in the entire game. Usually, when I lose, I chalk it up to me piloting the deck badly, or just not digging for certain jokers enough, but Blast Off genuinely feels like "oh, you didn't get a good start, die" due to having so few discards and hands.

So, how did people that actually beat this challenge do it?

Unfortunetly, both later challanges and higher stakes suffer from this problem, and the only solution is "get a good start".
