Blueprint in itself has its own edition. The card it copies also has its own edition.
(edition being holo, poly or foil)
So Blueprint cards come in editions like foil. OK. But that doesn't tell me that Blueprint copies *the foil status* of the Joker to its right. It tells me, at best, that Blueprint copies Jokers that are also foil.
So, does Blueprint copy the foil status of Jokers? Or, to cut to the chase, what counts as the "ability" of a Joker? The text on the card, or the text on the side as well?
The only reason I asked is that it affects where I put the Joker. One Joker was at x3 mult, and another was x3 mult +10 mult. I dragged Blueprint next to the latter, just to be sure. But one Joker's mult was linked to how many blinds I have skipped, so it kept changing.
No, specifically, because it has its own edition.
Of course in practice this isn't actually obvious to a lot of people, probably because "ability" isn't explicitly defined anywhere. But it isn't like Blueprint is underdefined, it does exactly what it says it will do. Guess it's also just human nature to hope it does the more powerful option.
My Blueprint didn't come in an edition (holo / poly / foil). Sure, *now* I know that can happen, since you (and malogloss, and Draco18s) have told me. But it's not like the following inference is a natural one: "the card I just got doesn't have any holo / poly / foil; *therefore* I should think it comes in holo / poly / foil."
Anyway, you guys have answered my question, so thanks!
