Might want to change that, I legit have no idea which challenge you are talking about.
It's basically a choice for the player between making a challenge run easier than normal but risking certain bosses (which you did), or actually treating it as a challenge with -2 joker slots but lots of income.
There are very few game changes I'd vote for, but one of them would be to start runs with a weaker version of the Director's Cut voucher. Costing more than $10 to activate. Or perhaps a one use ticket for a free boss reroll during the run, but I think I prefer the other option, sounds more balanced to me.
Good luck beating the challenge, if your only problem is the Plant, you'll beat it in no time.
Planet cards are very important in both challenges and normal run as well. I've beaten many boss blind with entirely debuffed cards, because the base Mult of my hand was so high that a couple of scaling +Mult Joker, finished by a sold x2 or x3 Mult Hologram / Throwback = EZ win. Strategy is always simple: Card buff early game, then transferring to general Joker buff along the way. Of course you could still be screwed and lose with bad RNG, but it wouldn't take me too many tries to win again.
