Resolution resets every time I close the game

I have an iMac with a 5k screen and the resolution it set to 5k every time, even after I change it and exit the game.

This is a problem because it causes the computer to operate slowly until I change it again, sometimes it puts itself to sleep because of high temperatures.

Having the same issue. Not a huge problem to change the resolution back, but it is annoying to have to do so.
