S tier: Free shop / Holographic joker
A tier: Foil joker / Poly joker / Uncommon joker
B tier: Rare joker / Mega tarot pack
F tier: Any other tags that can spawn in ante 1.
A combination of tags can improve them, for example a rare free joker would be worth skipping both for.
You still get paid for leftover hands, and you can get enough money to get a Joker after the first small blind... every skip makes the game more difficult because you are missing out on everything available at the store. My usual starting M.O. is to beat the first small blind in one hand (high strait, high flush, 4 of a kind, high-ish full house), get a Joker that increases chips/mult, beat the first large blind in one hand, possibly get a good second Joker, beat the first boss in one hand, and possibly snag a Spectral or Voucher along the way
I hope you work out your skill issues at some point, I suggest watching some Balatro University videos
i tried going for a combination of free shop + 1 type of joker Holographic/Uncommon if possible, i also do think Rare/Poly is quite bad at ante 2. Currently i think that is the only good way to get many jokers and up the econ at ante 2.
I have had luck with double tarots though (2 hermit 2 judgement), instant 16 starting gold and free jokers. This pushed me quite far ahead in the run.
I have to say the best joker ante 2 are "Joker" "Half-Joker" "Misprint". this seriously can make you hand stabilize long enough till something else comes along.
Play all blinds at ante 1 has advantages, but higher risks. Whereas Skipping both blinds and going to boss only waste a bit of time if you cant beat it and get all the rewards at Ante 2, generally i think its better than chancing at both Ante 1 blinds. most of the time you won't have the money to buy anything anyways.
You can still choose to sell something if the joker sucks to get some of the econ back, at higher stakes, i think the amount of gold/interest you can net will be the same as skipping both blinds.
Both have their advantages i feel, Black and above has serious risk of getting 2 eternals (for free) after skipping, which destroys the run.
I would add in "Gain $15 after the boss" at A tier and Double Tag at A or B; they don't help right away but will lead to a stronger run in ante 2 or 3. "Rerolls start a 0" is maybe C tier--it's bad, but more likely to help than $3. If you're actually trying for winrate I'd push Poly Joker down to B tier since there's a risk you can't afford it, but at this point you can just reset.
