Performance on steam deck is getting worse.
After several recent patches, I noticed that Balatro's performance on steam deck became worse:
1. The graphics seems to be more blurred and the text is more illegible.
2. Frame rate is unstable. When I click "menu" or "information", the frame rate will plummet from 60 to 40±.

The above problems have not improved after adjusting the TDP limit of steam deck or even turning off the TDP limit. Don't know if anyone has encountered the same problem. I hope dev can look into this.

I’m in the same boat, and I noticed other folks reporting the same issue in recent patch notes and in some discussions here. I think it started on 1.0.0L. Bummer because I’ve been playing since the first demo perfectly fine :( I have the same issues both on and LCD and an OLED deck.

I'm on a Linux PC (Linux Mint 21.3 Xfce) and I thought the worse performance was because of my old rig. Indeed, the demo (and the day one build) ran much better for me. I hope we get performance improvements soon. At least now I know it's not happening only on my end.

Saw some ppl discussing similar issues on discord, and I also post a report.

Haven't noticed performance issues yet.
I even run it at 4TDP 600mhz gpu to get as much battery out of it as possible and it still runs at 60fps.
With gpu below 600mhz it becomes unstable tho.

I had stutters on my deck yesterday for the first time (35 hours playtime no problems). I thought it was because of my sick score... but it wasn't I just had to restart and it works again perfectly like before.

Hmm I've been locked on 60 constantly since I started playing. Only difference is I have a faster 2tb boot drive but I doubt thatd make a difference.

NVM playing long enough results in very bad performance.
I don't think this happened in the 1.0.0l version of the game

I'm having the same problem on the ROG Ally. Framerate will be 500fps but what is displayed looks and feels like 20 or less. Resolution blurriness can be fixed with setting windows scaling to 100% but I can't find a fix for the performance so far.

I switched the in-game Video setting from Windowed to Borderless and it seems much better. Maybe even as good as pre-patch.

Just bought this and it’s blurry af. Version 1.0.1f-full. Can’t read any of the cards or instructions.

Make sure the game runs in fullscreen mode on your deck. Otherwise it is really blurry.

I think the dev recently tweeted they've been given a spark of inspiration after playing it on the deck. Nothing mentioned about performance, but if they experience any maybe that will get fixed along with the spark of inspiration (update soon I guess?)
