Every time you get an option for turning 3 cards into your suit of choice pick that option. The only other option to keep an eye on is the steel cards. Steel cards are godlike. If you have 25+ of the suit you want for flushes, make everything you can a steel card from that point on, and not just continue to increase the suit size.
Forcing Flush is a bad habit. The hand is not that great. But at white, red, green and black stake, the game won't punish you for forcing a flush build. It won't punish you for forcing any build. If you think you've solved the game, keep thinking that and be happy.
