I've beaten every boss blind except Violet Cup, which is basically a buffed version of The Vessel.
As I haven't beaten it, I can't directly view its stats as the game says they are, but poking at the code side, the wall's setup math is "self.chips /= 2" and violet vessel is "self.chips /= 3"
I can't quite figure out how that makes any sense, though.
That's what I expected (boss base is 2X, so if the division results in multiplying that value (???) then that would do that).
I'd argue it's one of the easiest (After Amber Acorn, which flips and shuffles Joker). You basically have no penalty against Violet Vessel other than the higher chips requirement, which can be easily overcome if you built your deck efficiently up until Ante 8.
The penalty is that you need to be able to win against the Big Blind by double the required value in a single hand in order to even attempt violet vessel.
If you're only winning by narrow margins and/or in more than one play, you have no chance against violet vessel. It isn't so much "build efficiently" as it is "be overpowered as ♥♥♥♥."
People already complain that The Wall is ridiculous (although I'll grant that some of the others, if you encounter them at the wrong moment, will end your run, too) and Violet Vessel is functionally equivalent to Big Blind on Ante 9.
If you're not oneshotting things by ante 8 you're doing something wrong.
