Wizardry Variants Daphne

Wizardry Variants Daphne

You need an additional 187MB of free space on your device to download resources
What a game, wow... I have over 100gb on my game drive and 600+gb free on my system drive. Can't continue. Great design.

EDIT:
What I did for those scared for commands was the following:
1- Move (not copy) the install folder to the prefix common location: compatdata/2379740/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common (make sure to make the common folder too if it isn't there)
2- Right click inside the normal SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/ location and create new > link to file or directory. Put the location of the Wizardry folder inside the prefix common. Make sure the name for the link is the same "Wizardry Variants Daphne"
3- Play.

Edit: It managed to install the files and play for me, so if I have to take a wild guess the game doesn't really like how Steam puts the Common directory where the game is installed outside of the Wine Prefix in Compatdata on Linux.

Edit 2: I just tested that wild guess by Moving the Wizardry install from Common into compatdata/2379740/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common then creating a Symlink back to the original Common folder under the same name and it actually sees my entire storage and I was able to install it through the Linux version.

Your math isn't adding up.
I think OP's complaint is the game is telling them they don't have enough space when they do.
same problem

Yes, I am.

Same here, but i need 2.5 Gb of additional space. (having 120 Gb of free space).
I'm on Linux, but it worked fine until now.

I've been bashing my head against a wall trying to fix this on my end. The best clue I have is that when I reinstalled and tried signing into a new account, it said I had a bit under 8 gigs free on my Steam Deck, so it might be hitting some kind of limit and not properly telling the OS it needs more room. I'm going to see if I can figure out how to manually tell Proton to give it more room, but this is something they should be fixing themselves.

I'm on linux too! I saw ppl on protondb saying it works great so I gave it a shot. A bummer, I was kind of interested in it...

Having the same issue on SteamDeck

Yep, same issue on steam deck. But don't worry, the windows version is broken in many other delightful ways now, like certain combat encounters just locking you into a black screen forever. Hope you have the game linked to a phone lol
I really chose the best time to try out the game huh? Rip. Guess we'll have to wait...

Well at least I didn't lose anything.

And I was right at the end of the second scenario. :(
Got no phone capable of running it either.

Same problem here, Fedora Linux. As I'm on travel right now for work, can't check on my Steamdeck.

For the record, on the SD, as I only have the 64GB version, I didn't have enough space on the eMMC 64GB internal drive, so I had to move the compatdata/2379740 folder to the sd card and then symlink it back to compatdata. It correctly detected disk space last week-end in both case (not enough space on the internal disk, which had ~5GB free, and ~200GB free on the sd card).

I installed it on my Fedora laptop this week, it correctly detected free space on the nVME drive during install (~300GB) when I installed it on Monday evening. Today, even after reinstalling it, it detected only 7.19GB of free space, whereas I have around 295GB free right now.

It's a bit sad as I was liking the game so far, both on SD and on the laptop. I hope a fix will be available soon.
