Setting to 720p Resolution
I was surprised to see that this game does not support 1280x720 resolution. It supports 1280x800 and 1280x1024, but not 720p. Seems like standard thing by now to support both 1080p and 720p, especially considering the two are both 16:9 aspect ratio. I've dug thorugh the config files and don't see anywhere I can manually set the resolution. Has anyone noticed this and/or fixed it?

Yup. No 720p option for me too. It seems this game is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ console port. In fact, selecting *ANY* resolution besides my screen's (1080p) adds black bars on all sides. Doesn't matter if it's the same aspect ratio or not.

If you right click on Transistor -> choose Properties -> then click Set Launch Options you should be able to type in /x=1280 /y=720 to run in 1280x720.

I wonder whether the day will ever come when people stop thinking that 720p is a resolution.

That day will come when you start giving out free gamer PCs to everyone. /s

720p = 1280x720, his1nightmare. it's called short-hand. My TV is progressive scan, so yes, for me it's 720p.

Are you trying to say that 720p is a terrible resolution that nobody should use? Or that the word 720p can't be used to reference a resolution? Because either complain is really stupid.

What I was "trying" to say is that 720p is not a resolution and just like about what trolling actually means, nobody seems to know.
Congratz, all of you failed.

I understand what you're trying to say. It's a format, not a resolution, although it's pretty obvious that the word is linked to the 1280x720 resolution. Kinda pedantic to complain about it at this point. You may as well embrace the word being used to indicate a "resolution" rather than a format at this point.

Yeah, just like every grammar rule, definition and even pronunciation changes only because there are too many who can't get it right.

Honestly, I partially blame Youtube for this. If only they called the "Quality" setting as "Format" more people would learn that it is a format :P

If you had any idea how much I hate Youtube.

actually iirc it refers to any resolution that is 720 pixels tall not just 1280x720 (with a ratio of 16:9)

they're just not common with higher x-axis resolutions because 1080p is basically standardised for higher res.

Since it is NOT a resolution, 720p solely refers to 16:9 resolutions.
But, there is this baby called anamorphic widescreen, which makes 1024x720 a 16:9 resolution and therefore a contender for 720p too.

You hate a lot of things, dude. Your life must be interesting.

By the way, 720p is a resolution.
