I bought the soundtrack and gave the game to my kids to play. (No disrespect meant there either - I'm just not into the platformer / combo type genre. I have 10 thumbs)
Instead of giving us an abundance of information, Transistor is very precise and calculated with what it tells the player. One of the few things we can learn about the main character is that her music had a very intense, visceral impact on Cloudbank's citizens. The soundtrack makes that believable, and conversely if the soundtrack was weak it would probably have killed Transistor's setting.

but the whole soundtrack is awesome!

Probably my favourite is Water Wall. It reminds me of another bit of music, but can't for the life of me remember what.
Bastions was good iirc, but it wasn't as integrated as this soundtrack is. I don't remember any songs from bastion but the sound from Transistor is so interwoven with the game that I don't think I'll be forgetting it anytime soon.
Agreed the timing of some tracks absolutely sent shivers down my spine. (THIS. THIS IS WHAT HAS TO BE HEARD RIGHT NOW.)
