Verse + Chorus:
D, F#, B, then a werid chord that looks like ths:
-------------------
---2--------------
---3--------------
-(mute)--------
---1--------------
-------------------
Not sure what this would be called :)
Bridge [power chords]:
---------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------
---4---------------------9----7------------
---4-----[repeats]-----9----7-------------
---2----------------------7----5------------
----------------------------------------------
Finally, if you want to get super fancy this is the piano part during the chorus on guitar:
-----------------------------------------------------------
-7----10------7-----------------------------------------
------------9-------7----9----6----7------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
For In Circles the majority of the song is:
D6 D6sus4
Em Em6
These four chords played as a four part sequence carries most of the song.
Suggesting this modification:
Verse (sounds good to me!):
Dm//// F////
C//// A////
Chorus
B♭////
A////
F////
F////
B♭////, Dsus2b5////,
A///, E6sus4addb9//, A//
Dsus2b5 looks like xx0130
E6sus4addb9 looks like xx2221
I've been trying this out for a bit now, and although it does sound better than my original suggestion I think it is still not quite accurate. I've been playing a bit of a mix that seems to sound good to me, I'm curious to know your thoughts:
D6, F#/D , B, Em6
I'm afriad I can only replicate the top four strings on a guitar sense I'm on a baritone uke (DGBE tuning, same as the last four on a guitar) so I can't hit F#/D unfortunately. I tried it out on a lower octave but it sounded off. Then again, this may be why my original proposal sounded off to you too, lemme try a different notation:
In Cirlces has a weird time signature btw, 3 beats then 2 beats per measure or something. Whatev, might be sleepy:
D6 xx0402 ///
D6sus4 xx0403 //
Em xx2000 ///
Em6 xx2020 //
That sounds right, but it also seems to be somewhat lacking. Sound isn't as big as it could be, y'know? I'll look more into it, maybe someone else will join with some ideas?
Also, I think the time signature is 5/4 in the verse and 6/4 in the chorus and bridge.
Thanks! You've got a good ear.
Yeah, the issue with my uke is that I know the chords are constantly descending but my tone only goes down so far with just four strings. On a piano, I think I'd play Bm Em and then Bm open, Em open as I work my way down to the lower notes.
(im not good with chords, i usually play by ear)
