Function after Level 14

At level 14 you're asked to select one of the four function you've started with again. In my case I selected Jaunt(), but didn't seem to notice any difference in the utility of the function. It didn't seem to go farther, nor was the internal cooldown between jumps less. What changes when you choose a function twice?
