Do you have to play as a girl?
I was really interested in this game because the creators made Bastion, until I found out that the main character is a girl.

Seriously, what the heck? Guys are physically bigger and more fit for battle. I don't know why the gaming industry keeps pushing these 'warrior females' down our throat.

Anyway, is there a male character I can play?

So, what you're saying is, you're not interested in the game because the main playable character is a woman?

She was born as a man and couldn't cope with male pattern baldness, then ultimately decided to have a sex change so that wearing a wig would be more socially acceptable. You can just remind yourself that she was born a man and you'll be fine.

Maybe there's a reason for that. Because those games are combat based and historically men are expected to do most physical combat while the women chill out.

Even today most of our soldiers are men and the female soldiers complain about stuff like their hairstyles during battle, while all the men have to shave their hair off.

Anyway what I'm saying is no, I don't want to play as a girl. I love my GF but I don't want to play as a girl in my games.

Thats how my favorite series, Final Fantasy got ruined. Loved every FF until they made a girl the protag. Then it just went to crap.

Let me get this straight, you're mocking how I choose to spend my money? Sorry but a female MC in a game like this is just unrealistic and lame.

yeah, they're pushing those "warrior females" down your throat. Almost 4% of games have female leads now! That's amost 1 out of 20! Clearly, they're trying to feminize you.

Maybe if you'd look more into the game, you'd realise she's less being Miss Conan and more attacking with digital routines and code based spells, so physicality is a non-issue. If anything is fighting, it's the sword. Which is technically male. That better for you?

Maybe you forgot that the title is Final FANTASY.

You know, the same series that has dragons, biosphere-eating alien parasites, skinny emo-guys wielding 200 pound swords, ghost-samurai, and feathers that bring the dead back to life.

And you're complaining about how Lightning was a girl? You don't have any perspective.
