You know what nevermind.
What are you even talking about? One of the first things we get to do in the game is chopping the cultist's limbs and then Ashley cooks the dude. We actually get to choose which limb to cut first if I recall correctly.
You literally have to press a button to select which limb to cut off and it detachs from the body. Did you even play the game?
Are you seriously trying to compare this to actual dismemberment depictions?
Sorry but I don't get what you're actually arguing for here. Are yoy saying I can show whatever tf I want aslong as it's poorly animated or according to the style of the game?
Regarding the sex scenes, would it be fine if the game just showed two "cardboard cutouts" twitching at a low framerate? Would that be less telling of what's going on?
Like... How dense can you be my dude?
Then I think it should be the same with Sex, we never said we don't want sex in the story, we said that the whole nsfw uncensored drawn images of sex scenes isn't relevant to the story.
We could get something like what was shown in the vision, letting us know they had a sexual interaction but not necessarily showing us.
I won't get upset or complain about whatever things people like or how they choose to enjoy a game, but I do get mad at people who complain that something exists. Not your cup of tea? Don't make that choice. I'd understand and be sympathetic if you had no choice, but when there is one I rather you keep your opinion to yourself.
I can like the NSFW scenes and look forward to them, so why do I have to deal with this pseudo-shaming? This is one of those things where people are being shamed and called out and can't speak out because its "not proper" or they'll be "judged". There is SEVERAL posts doing exactly that.
I don't buy it. Not interested in sex? Cool, don't do it, but stop trying to regulate everyone else.
And personally don't have a problem with NSFW games aswell I just think that TCOAAL doesn't need it for the story and that it would give reasons to the people calling it "The incest game"
The thing is, the story also doesn't ''NEED'' cannibalism, murder, demonic rituals, etc
All of them are simply narrative tools to facilitate goals; be it character development, audience's reaction or worldbuilding
Same goes for sex, like it or not, Burial routes is, on a meta level, a partial pay-off to tension that has always been there, and narratively, a t(h)reat of what could lay forward for the Graves
Even then chat they have afterwards helps to characterize and contrast them
If a person is unable to see how sex could be used to forward themes or characterization, that's more of a showcase of how monke brained that person is; just seeing the deed, ignoring the what led there
And the "incest game" is also the sort of thing Raven was talking about, it does carries a stigma of gratification without narrative purpose or unjustifiability(???), and a shortcut to imply its shameful and has no substance all the while
Be honest, does it sound more reasonable to call it the Cannibalism/the Demonic Ritual/the Patricide game?
I've used the word "pornographic" up to this point because I feel like "NSFW" isn't well defined enough to illustrate what I mean. If you're using the literal definition, the vast majority of content that's already in this game is "not safe for work." To use the more general definition, the vision from the Lovers route could also be considered NSFW, since the dialogue between the two leaves little to the imagination, and the CG shows Ashley's side-boob.
To me this doesn't say anything about the two not having sex in the story at all, just that if it happens it won't be pornographic. Quotes from previous devlogs indicate that Decay does feature an optional sex scene. But it won't be explicit. I, personally, do not want to see explicit sex, and that's all that this is saying there won't be, so I'm not upset about that.
To give some other examples, every main series Fallout game has at least one optional sexual encounter, and in every case it's a fade to black. Mass Effect and Dragon Age have sex scenes, but they're fully clothed, and what you're meant to understand as being the deed happens during a fade to black. The Witcher was controversial when it first came out due to the amount of sex present, but again it's non-explicit, with even the infamous love cards at most showing a topless drawing in a suggestive pose. Even Huniepop, a game sold on its adult content and where there are sex minigames, doesn't feature explicit sex.
TL,DR: When the sexual content is implemented, it won't be explicit, but it will still be in the game, and I'm okay with that.
But is that fault of the incest itself, or people who talk sんit while not knowing sんit?
Would this game being the "Murdering game", "Cannibalism game" sound any less shallow?
Also the Burial route CG is basically NSFW by itself, and I doubt anyone who has played the game and been interested in the Graves' relationship would say that it 'detracted'
