Report a translation problem
It depends on what your goal is. If you just want to get rid of some dirt or rock thats in your way, then its probably better to use the shovel. If you want to mine the stuff and get as much as possible, then use the pickaxe.
Lets say they both get a basic hit of 24 ore.
The shovel's bigger area gets you 6 ore but thier value is 4.. = 24.
The pick has smaller area and greater value. 3 at 8.. = 24.
Those numbers are not any real ore value just an example. The shovel will always get a lower value per hit compared to a Pick of the same make, were it gets a smaller area.
Also consider its not the ore as cut material but rather cutting the material to "uncover / expose" the "points" you see in the Scanner.. they are the scoring "points".
and i've noticed sometimes i mine rock away but it doesn't say anything and then a few later it's a bigger number.
