Adventure mode, does it have more than one biome?

I picked grasslands for instance, can I find desert/redstone/forest on this world?

Yes. Just go far enough in each direction.

Just don't get bored. The worst thing to do is to assume the minecraft mentality of biomes changing every km. No, you may or may not have to travel for an hour to find a different biome. By foot anyways.

That's okay, I already made a rudimentary ATV. It gets 60 km/h, I'm sure with a better engine atv or a flier it wouldn't be too bad.

Whoah, I never knew this.. I just assumed it was one biome.
Dayum, I guess I never travelled far enough.

When you create the world you select the "Major Biome", the rest is just random. Currently the transitions between biomes looks like a patchwork quilt, but they will probably add smoother transitions later on.
