Dr Zelenka
So there is this guy whose descendants are said to be Polish, but his name is nothing like a Polish surname, his accent is Scandinavian and he says his father is a nationalist, like he doesn't know what that word means ;) Just wanted to point this out, I find it too funny ;)

Any similar observations with other characters? Zoe seems to be oh-so British, but is she? ;)

Dr Zelenka really looks (and sounds) like Ragnar, IMHO.

That was my thought exactly! I thought it was just me, so I didn't even mention it! Man, can it be confirmed?

I think the actor playing Zelenka would have issue with his accent being Scandinavian :)

The actor is British, and the dialect is…generic Central European? Definitely hard to pin down!

I guess it just got un-confirmed :)

Uh, hehe, so it is not Ragnar after all? :D No, sorry, it is nothing like Polish or even Czech or Russian :) It is a bit Germanic. I've travelled around so it felt Scandinavian to me - the other user (edit: I mean, sir DrMcCoy :) ) thought it was Ragnar too, so ... Still, I love the dialogues so far :)

But German is, in truth, Central European, so, well, we could say it is Central European :)

Edit: It is really great, when devs get involved on forums. I haven't finished the first book yet, but I am already looking forward to playing the next one. One can definitely feel April Ryaness in Zoe's dialogues too - brings me back :)

Well, it doesn't sound like a German accent to me, though. Neither the real one (of which I am painfully aware, being German myself, and sporting that accent when speaking English), nor the fake Hollywood one.

Yeeeeeah, that is why I mentioned Scandinavian, either Swedish or Norwegian, which I have been most exposed to. Then I foolishly conformed to the Central European suggestion of the author (sneaky, you!). In case of a general Scandinavian option, it would not be a clear one either (they tend to add a "sh" sound in certain places in words, which was not present here, methinks). At least, thanks to you, we can confirm that it is neither German or Polish. :)
